Job Summary

: The Head Barista is responsible for leading the coffee bar operations and ensuring the highest standards of specialty coffee quality and customer experience. This role oversees beverage preparation, staff training, equipment maintenance, and daily bar workflow in a fast-paced specialty cafe in Riyadh. The Head Barista acts as the cafe's coffee expert--setting recipes, guiding baristas, and ensuring every cup reflects the brand's quality and consistency.

Responsibilities

:

Lead daily bar operations

, ensuring consistent quality in all specialty coffee beverages.

Train, mentor, and supervise baristas

, maintaining high service and coffee preparation standards.

Develop and refine coffee recipes

, including espresso profiles, pour-over techniques, and seasonal signature drinks.

Manage inventory

, including ordering beans, milk, syrups, and equipment supplies while minimizing waste.

Perform daily calibration

of espresso machines and grinders to maintain optimal extraction.

Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, and Riyadh Municipality regulations.

Monitor customer experience

, addressing feedback and maintaining a welcoming cafe atmosphere.

Coordinate with suppliers and roasters

, selecting beans and tracking roast profiles.

Maintain equipment

, performing basic troubleshooting and arranging professional servicing.

Support cafe management

in staffing, scheduling, and operational improvements.

Qualifications

:

3+ years experience

as a barista, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or head barista role.

Strong knowledge of specialty coffee

, including origins, processing methods, espresso science, and manual brewing.

Ability to train staff

and communicate coffee concepts clearly and professionally.

Familiarity with cafe workflows

, and inventory management.

Valid transferable Iqama

(for expatriate candidates) and ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends.
