• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or certifications in maintenance, electrical, plumbing, or related fields is a plus.
• Experience: Proven experience as a Handyman or in a similar maintenance role. Experience in general carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work is essential.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of various maintenance techniques and systems (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC).
• Attention to Detail: Ability to identify and solve problems efficiently and accurately, paying close attention to detail.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, carrying, and standing for long periods, and work in varying weather conditions.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose issues and find effective solutions.
• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety practices and procedures when working with tools, equipment, and materials.
• Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and ensure timely completion of maintenance work.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to interact with guests, staff, and other team members effectively.

Qualifications

• General Maintenance: Perform general maintenance tasks, including repairs to plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, doors, windows, furniture, and other building components.
• Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues and perform repairs as needed, ensuring all maintenance work is done efficiently and effectively.
• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs and address potential issues before they require costly repairs.
• Carpentry & Construction Work: Assist with carpentry tasks such as repairing or installing doors, cabinets, furniture, and other wood-based structures.
• Plumbing & Electrical: Carry out basic plumbing and electrical repairs, including fixing leaks, replacing faucets, repairing electrical outlets, and addressing other minor issues.
• Equipment & Appliance Repairs: Repair or replace faulty equipment or appliances such as air conditioning units, refrigerators, and washing machines.
• Tool & Equipment Maintenance: Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are in good working order. Use, maintain, and store all tools safely.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Ensure all maintenance work complies with local legal requirements, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the maintenance team to complete various tasks and respond to emergency maintenance requests.
• Time Management: Efficiently manage time to ensure that maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner with minimal disruption to guests and staff.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent service to guests and staff, responding promptly to requests for maintenance or repairs and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
• Sustainability: Follow environmentally friendly practices, reduce waste, and use eco-friendly materials whenever possible.
