Position Summary
The
Gym Instructor
is responsible for delivering exceptional fitness experiences to residents and guests while ensuring the gym and recreation facilities operate safely and efficientlyin accordance with
Marriott brand standards
. This role combines customer service, safety supervision, and fitness training expertise to help residents maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle during their stay.
Key Responsibilities: Service & Wellness Support
Greet all guests and residents warmly, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere at the fitness center.
Provide personalized fitness consultations and basic training guidance as requested.
Educate guests on proper equipment usage, exercise form, and wellness best practices.
Promote recreation and wellness activities available within the property.
Safety & Operational Excellence
Monitor the gym area to ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper use of equipment at all times.
Conduct daily inspections of gym equipment and facilities; report maintenance issues promptly.
Enforce Marriott's safety, hygiene, and health standards in all fitness and recreational areas.
Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, equipment logs, and attendance.
Brand & Pre-Opening Readiness
Assist with the setup of the gym and recreation area during the pre-opening phase.
Support the creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for gym operations.
Participate in departmental training sessions and brand orientation programs.
Represent the Marriott brand with professionalism and enthusiasm at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum
2 years of experience
as a Gym Instructor, Fitness Attendant, or Personal Trainer in a 4- or 5-star hotel, health club, or fitness center.
Certified Fitness or Personal Training qualification
(REPs, ISSA, ACE, or equivalent).
Current
First Aid / CPR certification
preferred.
Excellent communication skills and guest-service mindset.
Physically fit and energetic, with a passion for wellness and hospitality.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Previous
Marriott or pre-opening experience
is an advantage.
