Oversee the preparation and communication of weekly, monthly, and annual financial statements. Oversee the month-end close process, constantly reviewing procedures while eliminating inefficiencies
Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, compliance, and financial procedures, oversee, and implement the financial control framework, policies and procedures and ensure the Finance Department is in full compliance
Remain current on audit best practices as well as all laws regarding our clients\xe2\x80\x99 operations
Manage the overall cost base of the group, with particular focus on identifying opportunities for intra-group synergies across different functions that can result in meaningful improvement to the bottom line of the group
Develop, implement, and monitor the overall financial strategy of the organization
Collaborate with the executive team to align financial goals with the overall business strategy
Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders, including the board of directors, investors, and regulatory bodies. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for funder, investors, and our clients Board of Directors
Monitor financial performance against budget and forecasts, analysing variances and implementing corrective actions as needed
Identify and assess financial risks and implement risk management strategies
Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework for the organization
Manage the organization\'s cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs.
Optimize the capital structure and manage relationships with banks and financial institutions
Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic partnerships from a financial perspective
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and tax laws
Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the organization\'s tax position
Conduct financial modeling and analysis to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and business planning
Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance and support
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the finance function
Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies
Act as a key point of contact for financial matters within the organization
Present financial reports and updates to the board of directors, providing insights and recommendations. Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations
Utilize forward-looking models and activity-based analyses to provide financial insight into the plans and operating budgets
Assess and evaluate the financial performance of our client regarding long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts
Reinforce and drive a culture of transparency
Guide, mentor, recruit and develop the finance departments of Group companies
Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external and internal audits
Maintain outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with investors and business partners
Intervene with a view to resolving intricate and complex intra-group financial issues, disputes, and matters
Supervise the accounting function to ensure the proper functioning of all systems, databases, and financial software. Provide regular maintenance and backup of all accounting systems and supervise the financial staff (if any)
Criteria:
5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as a Group Finance Director
15 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a financial role
Must have a CPA, CA, or CFA, an MBA would be an advantage
In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices in the region, including review of financial statements and consolidated FS
5 years in Big4 experience as external auditor is essential
Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
Strong negotiation skills for dealing with external stakeholders, such as banks, investors, and regulatory bodies
Proficiency in identifying and managing financial risks
Knowledge and experience in M&A transactions, including due diligence, valuation, and deal structuring
In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations in the UAE
Understanding of international finance, including currency issues, global markets, and regulatory considerations for multinational organizations
Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead and manage a finance team
Strategic mindset and big team coordination skills. Coordinate and strategize methods used to attain team goals
Must be fluent in English (written and spoken), Arabic or a European language would be an added advantage but not essential however a high standard of English is essential
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal abilities
Sound judgment and decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure situations
High ethical standards and integrity in financial decision-making and reporting
This role requires the candidate to reside in RAK so you must be willing to relocate if you live in a different emirate
Must currently reside in the GCC
