As a member of the Regional Leadership Team, you provide commercial financial leadership to support sustainable growth, optimize performance and drive the business in accordance with GHD’s strategic and financial performance objectives and policies. You proactively engage in project pricing, project terms negotiation, live project reviews, variation management and working capital performance, to materially improve operational performance and build commercial acumen across the business. Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the leadership, development and delivery of Regional business plan financial performance objectives.
  • Proactively monitor long and short-term business trends, identify specific business improvement opportunities and lead innovative recommendations to enable cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Conduct analytical reviews and provide strategic input to enable informed decision making.
  • Ensure the Region runs commercially profitable projects including monitoring, reporting and improving financial performance, flagging risks, expediting debt collections and directing necessary actions including coaching and financial project manager training.
  • Work closely with operations management to develop performance goals / KPIs and monitoring outcomes with variance drivers analysed, understood and action plans implemented.
  • Ensure Working Capital KPIs are met and drive invoicing and AR collections.
  • Lead annual setting of charge rates, to ensure the business is structured to deliver targeted project margins.
  • Implement consistent pricing tools and methodologies across the business.
  • Ensure finance processes and accounting is accurately performed in a timely and cost-effective manner in line with GHD reporting timetable.
  • Responsible for accuracy and content of all Region P&L accounts and analysis.
  • Deliver the annual budget including setting KPIs and undertaking periodic forecasts for the Region.
  • Maintain weekly cash flow forecast and reporting.
  • Monitor aged WIP closely and the overall integrity of the Region’s balance sheet.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and content of Balance Sheet accounts and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Responsible for timely statutory reporting and liaising with external auditors.
  • Develop, mentor, manage performance and empower team members to provide commercially focussed financial solutions and advice. Manage workload and recruit resources as required.
  • Ensures GHD meets all internal and external compliance requirements including delegations of authority.
  • Complies with each country’s indirect and income tax legislation, rulings and company guidelines, providing support to internal stakeholders as required.
  • Assist / drive ad hoc projects and commercial financial analysis as required.
  • Reports compliance/non-compliance issues to Group Finance.
To be successful in this role, you are required to have:
  • Professional accounting qualifications equivalent to CPA or Chartered Accountant.
  • 10+ years in a similar role with experience in an international organisation preferred.
  • Experience in the Economic region is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in delivering commercial outcomes.
  • Experience in large project pricing and terms negotiation desirable.
  • Professional services, engineering, construction or project management industry experience higly desirable.
  • Experience in monitoring projects, analysing discrepancies and initiating proactive, corrective actions.
  • Proven stakeholder and relationship skills.
  • Experience in leading and developing teams.
