The Manager, Logistics Communications, will manage the development, execution and measurement of communications by the DP World Logistics business pillar globally.
Reporting to the Director, Logistics Communications, the role is part of the specialist team that supports the growth of the company's businesses by delivering strategic and tactical communications that drive customer preference and stimulate demand.
The DP World Logistics pillar integrates a number of recently-acquired logistics businesses and the Group's established network of Parks and Economic Zones. The assets and capabilities of Logistics, alongside those of Ports & Terminals and Marine Services, offer the global 'toolbox' of services which enable the overall DP World value proposition of 'end-to-end logistics solutions from factory floor to customer door'.
The main accountabilities of the Manager, Logistics Communications are:
  • Deliver communications strategies that reflect the specific business objectives and growth priorities at global and regional levels including the tailoring of communications to the needs of cargo owner customers and prospects in high priority industry verticals.
  • Provide communications advice and support to stakeholders and subject matter experts within specified industry verticals and/or capabilities within the Logistics business.
  • Manage communications activities that deliver business impact among identified customer segments.
  • Collaborate with other Group Communications Centres of Excellence and external agencies in developing and delivering effective, cost-efficient and measurable implementations of these strategies.
  • Ensure that all Business Communications activities are aligned with the global brand purpose and the overall 'One DP World' positioning as a provider of end-to-end logistics solutions.
  • The ambition is to deliver world-class B2B communications, which build the desired long term positioning of DP World while supporting the more immediate term business objectives of the Logistics pillar.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Provide strategic and tactical communications advice to stakeholders and SMEs.
  • Lead scheduled, regular meetings with stakeholders and collaborators to ensure alignment and visibility of developments in the business.
  • Develop deep sector knowledge, audience insight, and understanding of services and products.
  • Manage external agency and vendor teams on specified projects.
  • Lead in the creation of narratives and key messages relating to the strategy, delivering high-quality, accurate content.
  • Support Logistics industry event participation as required.
  • Drive clear project management processes and ensure a high quality of outputs.
  • Contribute to an actionable 'dashboard' of metrics; be responsible for delivering timely, accurate and well-presented reports on agreed objectives and KPIs.
  • Collaborate effectively with Group Communications Centres of Excellence to ensure effective channel strategy, and with regional communications teams to drive reach and impact.
  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World's Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World's Code of Conduct and Ethics.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • +/- 8 years of communications, marketing or related experience.
  • Solid experience in delivering integrated communication programmes, meeting expectations and deadlines within budgetary guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with demonstrable experience in project management.
  • Understanding of core concepts of financial reporting, business planning and budget management.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design skills.
  • A confident communicator and presenter.
  • Strong knowldge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media.
  • Solid understanding of current affairs and awareness of global economic and geopolitical context.
  • Self motivated with a positive, professional, collaborative approach.
  • Self-starter who thrives under pressure, can prioritise multiple projects, and is driven to achieve results in a dynamic environment.
