The Company A leading Dubai conglomerate is looking to recruit a Group Chief Financial Officer. The Role The purpose of this strategic leadership role is to oversee and optimize the financial operations of the organization and its diverse business sectors. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial vision, strategy, and governance across the group, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. This includes leading a dynamic finance team, overseeing financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting. Additionally, the role involves providing strategic financial guidance to support business decision-making, risk management, and capital allocation. The CFO collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, business unit leaders, and external stakeholders to drive financial excellence, growth, and sustainability. Responsibilities also extend to financial compliance, internal controls, and financial systems optimization. Success in this role requires leveraging financial acumen, a strategic mindset, and leadership capabilities to navigate complex financial dynamics, contributing significantly to the group\'s financial success and long-term growth. The incumbent in this role is an experienced financial leader with a proven track record of financial stewardship and a vision for financial excellence, poised to shape the group\'s financial future.
  • Occupy a central role in finance governance, control, and audit functions, which encompasses both internal and external auditing.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to Business Units (BUs) and profit centers, with a focus on optimizing performance while diligently managing expenditures.
  • The CFO\'s strategic counsel aims to enhance year-on-year EBITDA for each BU, fostering a culture of financial stewardship and innovation throughout the organization.
  • Provide a comprehensive authority over the Delegation of Authority (DOA) framework and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), implementing a meticulous stage review control mechanism.
  • Oversee financial planning, analysis, and budgeting activities within the GMG group, ensuring the development of detailed monthly management performance reports.
  • Additionally, the CFO plays a critical role in Financial Risk Management, proactively assessing and mitigating financial risks to maintain the organization\'s financial stability and long-term success.
  • Responsible for auditing both internal and external financial processes, ensuring the closure of all findings in audit reports and the successful implementation of recommended improvements.
  • Work closely with each Business Unit (BU) and profit center head through a team of financial experts, providing invaluable guidance and advisory support. This collaborative approach empowers teams to optimize their top-line capabilities while rigorously managing bottom-line expenditures.
  • Assumes a transformative role in driving year-on-year growth in EBITDA figures for every BU and profit center. The roles dedication to collaboration and financial stewardship ensures that each unit operates at peak performance levels, making a substantial contribution to the group\'s overall financial success and sustainable growth.
  • Provide a profound understanding of financial management, you will possess expertise in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in implementing and overseeing financial systems and technologies is crucial to ensure efficient financial operations.
  • You will be fully versed at financial governance, internal controls, and audit practices, with a strong grasp of industry standards and regulations. Additionally, the ability to harness data analytics and financial modeling is integral to making informed decisions that drive financial excellence and sustainability within the organization.
The Candidate
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration. Certification in Acounting - CFA / CIA or equivalent and/or Master\'s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, is preferred
  • 15 years of relevant experience with at least 8 years leading financial management in a complex business environment, preferably in the FMCG/retail industry.
