Ground Coordinator

We are searching for an experienced Ground Coordinator at our MEDLOG Saudi Arabia - Ad Dammam facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a Ground Coordinator to manage and oversee container movements and yard operations. This role ensures efficient stacking, segregation, and storage of containers while maintaining safety, compliance, and smooth coordination between teams.



Key Responsibilities

1. Yard Coordination & Container Movements

Direct and coordinate daily container movements within the yard.

Ensure proper stacking and segregation based on container status (empty, full, damaged, reefer, export, import, etc.).

Communicate with equipment operators (reach stackers, empty handlers, forklifts) for accurate container placement.

Maintain location-wise inventory and monitor yard layout for optimal space utilization.

Coordinate manual and systematic workflows between gate team, checkers, and operators as per supervisor instructions.

2. Documentation & Verification

Verify container numbers, conditions, and movement instructions.

Assist in updating the Terminal Operating System (TOS) or depot software when required.

Ensure accuracy of gate-in/gate-out documentation and work orders.

Report discrepancies in container location or status promptly.

3. Coordination with Departments

Liaise with maintenance/repair teams for damaged containers.

Work closely with gate, admin, operations, and inspection teams.

Follow planner/supervisor instructions for daily operational schedules.

4. Safety & Compliance

Enforce depot safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Identify and report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.

Ensure all ground operations comply with HSE standards.

Assist during emergency procedures and safety drills.

5. Customer Service

Guide truck drivers to correct loading/unloading points.

Ensure smooth and timely truck turnaround at the depot.

Address operational issues raised by drivers or customers on-site.

6. Reporting & Communication

Communicate container movement updates to supervisors and planners.

Report equipment breakdowns, operational delays, or yard congestion.

Prepare basic daily yard activity reports when required.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.

Experience in yard operations or container handling preferred.

Strong communication and coordination skills.

Knowledge of TOS or depot management systems is an advantage.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow safety protocols.
