About the Opportunity: The energy industry is undergoing rapid and dramatic changes, moving away from fossil fuels to alternative energy sources. At the same time, the risks posed by climate change and aging infrastructure requires an array of dynamic and innovative solutions to deliver resilient energy services. This energy transition is still in its early stages, and presents significant technical, logistical, and market challenges. Decarbonization will require detailed planning, multi-disciplinary collaboration, significant financial resources, and motivated staff to support successful implementation. Jacobs is expanding our team to tackle the delivery of hydrogen related projects to deliver a cleaner and more secure energy future. As a Senior Hydrogen Consultant, you'll work closely across operations, sales, and technology functions providing leadership as we expand our hydrogen projects portfolio. Your primary responsibilities will focus upon: Development of delivery capability for hydrogen related projects for utility, industrial, transportation and municipal clients, Execution of market strategy to support Jacobs's growth in the Energy Transitions market Collaborating with Client Account Managers and sales professionals on pursuits of strategic importance to the firm. This will include extensive client dialogue, team building, and development of differentiating strategies. Scope and manage technical and feasibility studies and delivery projects relating to hydrogen production technologies as well as hydrogen management and downstream use in the energy, transport and industrial sectors. Other responsibilities will include client-facing delivery in leadership roles to develop implementation strategies for projects, responsible for overall work progress, technical performance and client and stakeholder satisfaction. You'll be expected to possess highly collaborative and sophisticated communication and problem-solving skills and finesse. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to anticipate challenges and manage "up and out" while supporting teams responsible for the daily details of project delivery. You will have held roles of increasing responsibility in supporting hydrogen related feasibility studies, engineering design, construction, and operations including management of single projects to delivery of complex programs. Here's What You'll Need: Hold a Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Engineering Support for the feasibility analysis of existing projects in the portfolio for prioritization Support to the Preparation of technical-economic and competitive offers that respond to the needs of customers and that add value to the company Scope and manage technical and feasibility studies and delivery projects relating to hydrogen production technologies as well as hydrogen management and downstream use in the energy, transport and industrial sectors. Have thorough knowledge of hydrogen (green/blue/grey) sector including policy and regulations, production technology, storage technology, transport technology and hydrogen uses. Be experienced and established senior practitioner in hydrogen process design (electrolysis, reformation and partial oxidation, fuel cells) Have previous experience in hydrogen infrastructure projects such as production, refueling and storage Have at least 10 years of engineering and project management experience Have proven technical proficiency with hydrogen production (electrolysis), storage and distribution systems (pipelines) including the production and handling of liquid hydrogen Have technical proficiency with hydrogen fuel cell systems, including the systems integration between hydrogen storage, fuel cells and batteries Be experienced of hazard/safety assessment of hydrogen systems and knowledge of hydrogen codes and standards Be experienced with industrial process engineering (mechanical, electrical, control systems), Have proven leadership skills in developing project delivery teams Have a proven record of analyzing process and market data and making recommendations for the design and engineering process, for operations & maintenance, or design improvements and upgrades Be well versed and knowledgeable in supplier, vendor and subcontractor coordination and interface management The following will be considered advantageous Knowledge of industrial processes and equipment as: Steam Methane Reformer, Nitrogen Air Separation Unit, Ammonia Plants with associated Ammonia Pipelines and its BOP equipment Knowledge of cost data and benchmarks for Ammonia process technologies, as well as technologies for chemical derivatives like methanol, or Kerosene, etc. Experience in all aspects of the project development lifecycle with a focus on the Renewables Fuels markets (Hydrogen, Ammonia, Methanol, or alternative fuels) Experience with Ammonia process technologies, including plant operations, process design, and /or simulation Have a research and development background in the development of hydrogen-based technologies an advantage.
