The Position

As a Government Affairs Senior Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the Government Affairs Strategy to allow Novo Nordisk to meet both its commercial and reputational goals. This role develops the Government relations and advocacy plans and is a key externally facing representative of Novo Nordisk Saudi Arabia. The role advocates among key patient and professional organizations to improve patient outcomes and increase Novo Nordisk KSA reputation as a trusted partner in diabetes, obesity, and Rare Diseases. It also develops the MAPA Key Stakeholder Engagement Plan and engages with customer groups beyond those allocated to the sales force. The role includes developing and implementing the External Communications plan, media monitoring, issues management, and other externally facing communications activities.

Your main responsibilities will include: Delivery of agreed Government Affairs strategies within the timeframe and budget. Awareness and adoption of new products/indications. Development of & engagement with key stakeholders to support Market Access and Public Affairs initiatives. Handling external communication (Strategic), including the development and implementation of a communication plan that creates awareness and differentiation of Novo Nordisk externally, and elevates diabetes, obesity & RD, on the public agenda. Mapping and prioritizing key stakeholders. Developing, engaging & maintaining relationships, and actively networking to build credibility with key customers, government, industry bodies, and key external influences in KSA as well as staff from head office and other affiliates to achieve competitive advantage and market leadership.

Qualifications

We are expecting you to hold a relevant academic degree with a medical or business background, and English proficiency, both written and spoken. To be effective in this role, we expect you to have: At least 6 years of pharmaceutical industry or healthcare experience. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including those at the executive level. Demonstrated communication strengths, including internal and external messaging. Project Management skills.

About the Department

The Market Access and Public Affairs (MAPA) function is a very critical to short term and strategic affiliate priorities. To keep the focus on those responsibilities, MAPA team members are leading the transformation initiatives and strive for cross function execution excellence internally and in the field. The function cover pricing activities, key account management for private, Field market access and public affairs.
