Travel retail represents the unique shopping spaces and duty free options active in airports and dedicated duty free sites all over the world. Global Travel also serves the airline and cruise ship community for on board purchases and in bar experiences. The business brings exclusive brand extensions and limited editions to travellers as well as in-airport experiences including luxury shop in shops and immersive pop-ups.

Global Travel is a brand building marketplace, with a consumer in a different headspace, captive, shopping with a different lens to the ordinary. A showcase opportunity enabling brands like Johnnie Walker to reach the No.1 whisky spot and our single malts to become the rare liquid gift or treat for shoppers in transit. Travel Retail is the home of gifting Gifts for self and others, for holiday moments, festive occasions and souvenirs with a sense of occasion and place.

We have recently redefined our ambition and strategy and are designing a future for our business where we lead the Total Beverage Alcohol category to become the most dynamic and fastest growing category in Global Travel, while accelerating Diageo to become the number one partner for our customers, through luxury brand building underpinned by our scale. We will do this by reaching more travellers, converting more of them to purchase both in store and online and thirdly increasing the value of their spend.

Context/Scope:

The Account Manager of Domestic carries key leadership responsibilities in relation to our distributor, our organization internally, and to the external marketplace:

Inspire, develop, and manage the distributors to deliver outstanding and ever-stretching performance.

Lead the development and delivery of excellent GAME plans.

Act as the external face of Diageo in the region

The role requires strong influencing capability with the ability to:

Persuade distributor partners regarding new investment opportunities to increase sales and profitability

Drive appropriate behaviors of partner sales force and marketing team

Lead the distributor to deliver our strategy by channel (On Trade & Off Trade)

Market Complexity

The business operates within a very ambiguous environment with complex market conditions, customers & consumers and understanding the market legislation to operate it\xe2\x80\x99s really important - as well as understanding both about Off Trade and On Trade environments.

Top Accountabilities

Manage & Deliver the P&L

Leads S&OP & AOP cycle. Confidently engage with Diageo Directors to share your vision for the business

Lead External Business Reviews with Distributor and Cluster customer

Liaise with distributors and internal teams on key initiatives development and achievements in markets

AgreeJoint Business Plans/Diageo 365 essentials which deliver long term, sustainable value for all partners.

Entrepreneurial & creative mind-set, who, delivers interventions to over-achieve all performance metrics, whilst closing any risks to plan.

Ensure Off Trade and On Trade World Class Every Day Great Execution, on-time and ensure everything is as per Diageo Global Brand Standards

Building exceptional relationships, and maintaining these despite difficult commercial negotiations will be critical to success in this role

Drive the Commercial Standards for the market;

Qualifications and Experience Required:

5+ relevant years of experience in a commercial role, and great command of numbers.

Key Account management experience, including complex and difficult negotiations

Able to move from Strategy Planning to Implementation - a track record in developing and implementing strategy, solving complex problems and effective decision making, whilst then also being passionate about execution and being able to drive projects through to completion.

Proactive, driven and resilient \xe2\x80\x93 a self motivator who thrives in ambiguity and can overcome obstacles / find solutions.

Skilled in building, developing and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders.

Operating as a self-starter in an environment in which required to be self-sufficient.

Cross-cultural experience is an advantage

Developing market experience is advantageous

High attention to detail \xe2\x80\x93 for commercial planning and in delivering on execution.
