Global Legal Lead

We are a dynamic and innovative digital venture-based company seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to join our team as the Global Legal Lead. As the Global Legal Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating legal matters across multiple countries, managing a diverse team of legal professionals, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Your expertise and leadership will be essential in facilitating agreements, entity setup, and resolving legal issues to support the growth and success of our global operations.

Responsibilities:

• Legal Coordination: Serve as the central point of contact for legal matters and liaise with consultants based in various countries to ensure efficient and effective coordination of legal activities.
• Team Management: Lead and manage a team of legal professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Oversee compliance with local and international laws and regulations, identifying potential risks, and implementing strategies to mitigate legal exposures.
• Agreement Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including but not limited to contracts, partnerships, licensing, and other business arrangements.
• Entity Setup: Assist in the establishment of new entities or business structures in different countries, ensuring legal compliance and efficient operations.
• Dispute Resolution: Handle legal disputes and litigation matters, working with external counsel when necessary to protect the company\'s interests.
• Legal Research: Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations in various jurisdictions, providing legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders as needed.
• Policy Development: Develop and implement company-wide legal policies and procedures to ensure consistency and best practices across all operations.
• Intellectual Property Protection: Advise on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
• Collaboration with Other Departments: Collaborate with other departments, such as Finance, HR, and Operations, to provide legal insights and ensure legal compliance in their respective areas.

Requirements:

• Education and Experience: bachelor\'s degree in law (LL. B or equivalent) and a valid license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction. A master\'s degree or relevant post-graduate qualifications will be advantageous. Minimum 8 years of experience in legal roles, with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership capacity in a multinational company.
• Global Legal Expertise: Strong knowledge of international business law, corporate law, commercial transactions, and regulatory frameworks across different countries.
• Team Leadership: Proven track record of effectively managing and leading legal teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Venture and Digital Experience: Prior experience in a digital and venture-based company will be highly valued, as well as familiarity with legal issues specific to the technology and digital sectors.
• Excellent Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal matters in a clear and concise manner.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically to identify legal risks and provide effective solutions.
• Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment and manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in other languages will be an advantage, especially if required for communication with consultants in various countries.
