The Role Oversee Global Downstream Energy Natural Resources broking strategy and provide leadership, direction, advice and guidance to brokers in all geographies. Client proposition Lead brokers to deliver a differentiated client experience and broking excellence that includes:
Promoting a clear understanding of the broking strategy and adherence to broking protocols, ensuring best practice is applied consistently across the GLoB
Continuously appraising global insurance market’s appetite and capability, certifying the GLoB is leveraging global (re)insurance markets that offer the best outcome for clients
Ensure brokers across the GLoB are providing impartial client advice with client interest put above all other considerations
Develop solutions that are aligned to sector and geo strategy
Leadership
Responsible for managing, motivating and developing the skills, competencies and knowledge of brokers in line with policies and procedures, including overseeing and managing of staff performance reviews and objective setting
Maintain staff competence by ensuring that staff skills or knowledge gaps are met with appropriate training and development, so they can perform to their maximum capability and fulfil their potential and the requirements of the business
Work with Talent Acquisition to recruit staff with the correct level of skills and competencies, adhering to the company’s recruitment procedures and best practices
Identify and maintain knowledge of broking talent and support career development plans, measuring outcomes and compensation in line with expected behaviours
Regulation and Controls
Own Risks and Controls (applicable to Broking) within the Risk & Controls Assessment (RACA) and assess these to review continued likelihood, significance, impact and identify new risks
Articulating and disseminating Broking related best practices and protocols across the GLoB, including accessing international markets
Innovation and quality control
Driving innovation around new products and coverages

Promote Inclusion & Diversity within the GLoB broking community;
The Requirements
Proven reputation and track record of engagement with significant internal and external stakeholders
Extensive knowledge of the insurance market to address client, market and/or technical issues including addressing potential conflicts of interest in broking activity
Excellent leadership skills, with a proven track record of building successful commercial businesses; of developing people; and of instilling high standards of ethical behaviour
Strong skills in problem solving
Strong skills in planning and budgeting
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to use inclusive and collaborative styles to gain agreement within a matrix environment
Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
Ability to act as an ambassador for the Company
Ability to demonstrate evidence of a highly professional and credible approach across the broking market community
Preferably educated to a degree, or MBA level (or country equivalent)
Preferably with professional qualifications, e.g. ACII or similar country equivalent, or relevant industry experience
Holds all regulatory licenses, permissions and technical or other requirements applicable under local legislation
High levels of business and financial acumen with an understanding of company strategy and change management
Ability to act as an ambassador for the Company
