Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced GIS Specialist to support the Underground Utilities Verification Project, The role requires extensive knowledge in GIS data management, CAD integration, underground utilities mapping, and QA/QC of geospatial data. The candidate will work closely with project management, surveying, and engineering teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of geospatial components of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

GIS Data Management & Integration

Manage, update, and verify existing GIS and CAD data for underground utilities. Integrate As-Built and utility data from SAP, ECMS, NPCMS, and other systems into GIS/CAD platforms. Incorporate field survey data into geospatial databases with accurate QA/QC procedures.

Support for Surveying & CAD Teams

Assist in transforming survey data into GIS-compliant datasets. Collaborate with CAD teams to deliver updated Underground Utilities CAD Files using ENEC guidelines and CAD Dictionary standards. Prepare Master Plan CAD files (DWG) incorporating GIS layers for underground utilities.

Progress Reporting

Prepare and deliver monthly Underground Utilities Verification Progress Reports including geospatial data analysis. Contribute to the final Project Detailed Report including GIS components and maps (PDF and Word formats).

Documentation & Standards Compliance

Ensure compliance with ENEC guidelines and standards for GIS data and metadata. Document geospatial methodologies and maintain version-controlled datasets and QA/QC records.

Stakeholder Coordination

Work with the ENEC GIS Team, Projects Department, and other stakeholders to align geospatial outputs with project goals. Support cross-functional coordination during data reviews, reporting, and project updates.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geomatics, Surveying Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in GIS with emphasis on underground utility mapping and CAD integration. Proficiency in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and integration tools for GIS-CAD workflows. Strong experience with QA/QC of spatial data and reporting standards. Familiarity with document management systems (e.g., SAP, ECMS) and As-Built data. Knowledge of ENEC or similar nuclear infrastructure project standards is a plus. Excellent analytical, communication, and project coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the energy or nuclear sector, especially in utility verification or surveying projects. Experience with generating master plan maps and georeferenced CAD files. Certifications in GIS (e.g., GISP, ESRI Certified) are an advantage.
