Role Description



This is a full-time role for a Geotechnical Engineer at Tarmac Soil & Material Testing Laboratory LLC. He/She will be responsible for geotechnical reporting. He/She should have strong computer literacy skills for managing reporting and preferably well versed with relevant softwares such as gINT, LIMS, GeoStudio, Geo5, Plaxis etc.

Experience:



Extensive Field Experience:



06 years of hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering in the UAE, involving site investigations, soil and rock testing, and monitoring of geotechnical activities. Experience managing and supervising site investigations, including borehole drilling, soil sampling, in-situ testing (e.g., Standard Penetration Test, Cone Penetration Test), and groundwater monitoring.

Project Management:



Proven track record in managing and delivering complex geotechnical engineering projects on time and within budget. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors, in both design and construction phases of projects.

Technical Design and Analysis:



Strong background in designing foundations (shallow and deep), retaining structures, embankments, and slopes. Competence in interpreting geotechnical data, conducting stability analyses, and making design recommendations.

Regulatory and Compliance Experience:



Familiarity with EIAC requirements and should have faced at least 04 EIAC audits. Experience in preparing regulatory submissions and obtaining necessary permits for construction activities.

Construction Support:



Experience providing geotechnical support during construction, including quality control, site inspections, and troubleshooting geotechnical issues on-site. Ability to review and approve construction documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and reports.

Mentorship and Leadership:



Experience mentoring junior engineers and technical staff, providing guidance, training, and support in their professional development. Proven leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and lead teams in challenging environments.

Educational Background :



Bachelor's Degree:

Civil Engineering, or a closely related field is required.

Technical Proficiency:



In-depth knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, including soil mechanics, rock mechanics, foundation engineering, and slope stability. Proficiency in using geotechnical software tools for analysis, modeling, and design. Familiarity with construction techniques and materials related to geotechnical engineering.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:



Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write detailed technical reports and communicate complex information clearly to clients and stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulators.
