Geotechnical Consultant

Fugro Middle East is looking for a qualified candidate for the position of Geotechnical Consultant. The ideal candidate will excel in integrating innovative client solutions with a focus on leveraging digital technologies. This role involves active participation and contribution to the successful execution of complex marine/offshore projects, ensuring they deliver tangible business benefits for our clients. Analytical skills are crucial for interpreting data and conducting independent research into industry developments. The successful candidate will be on a path to developing industry recognition within their field of expertise. Taking the lead on marine site characterization projects, the individual will strive to deliver engineering value through integrated solutions, employing digital tools for differentiation. Strong engineering background, coupled with expertise in geophysics, met Ocean, and environmental services, is essential. Job responsibilities:

Develop personal skill set through Internal training and on-line training.

Develop presentation/public speaking skills in internal/external situations.

Contribute to the successful completion of highly complex engineering projects

Recommend resources required to meet particular project objectives.

Interpreting and reporting project data.

Performing relevant engineering analyses.

Drafting reports and advice notes.

Checking the analytical work of others.

Co-signatory on reports issued to Clients.

Contract Management/Project CTR control.

May require to work offshore on short missions.

Contribute to the preparation and drafting of proposals including:

Identifying client\'s wishes/requirements and defining objectives.

Participating in the definition of scopes of work and budget required.

Identifying risks and developing appropriate management strategies.

Performing pricing/costing analyses.

Actively following up proposals and tenders.

Develop relationships and rapport with clients and peers through normal project progressions.

Meet or improve on project deadlines and budgets.

Attend meeting with Clients throughout MEI region (pre-tender, project related or on consultancy basis).

Develop understanding of market requirement within discipline to define services and solutions that competitively separate Fugro.

Attend industry conferences and exhibitions within established frameworks.

Support the growth of the GeoConsulting department.

Conceive and plan informed and progressive work programs solving challenging engineering problems, especially with respect of challenges observed in carbonate soils.

Develop and maintain technical and professional recognition in the field, working towards a reputation as a subject matter expert in one of the following discipline: pile foundations, shallow foundations, anchor foundations, pipeline, geohazard.

Be able to identify and correct mathematical calculations of subordinates and peers.

Regularly attend industry meetings to ensure continued professional development.

Develop through internal interactions and appropriate external development a strong commercial understanding of consulting services.

Ensure quantity and transparency of accumulated knowledge regarding developments in the practice area with particular focus on carbonate soils, seeking out opportunities for applied research and development of engineering advances that will have a significant impact on the industry and Fugro\xe2\x80\x99s competitive position in the Middle East.

You bring (qualifications & experience)

Master\xe2\x80\x99s in Geotechnical Engineering

3-8 years of extensive experience with geotechnical engineering and consultancy (8 years as a guideline) with prior project experience in the Middle East

Proficient in English language

Previous experience in desktop studies related to marine infrastructure and site characterization.

Maintain up-to-date with technical developments in industry and academia. Integrate expertise from other experts from the global GeoConsulting service line. Assist with cross-training and knowledge transfer between engineers, and build a team.

Cultivate a good work ethic within Marine GeoConsulting and with local, global peers.

Willing to travel in the region and attend meetings or get involved in short offshore missions.
