Job Title: General Tile Mason (5+ Years UAE Experience)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Mason with a minimum of 5 years of experience working in the UAE to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various masonry tasks, including the installation, repair, and maintenance of brick, stone, and concrete structures. This role requires knowledge of local building codes, construction methods, and safety practices. The mason will be expected to work independently or with a team to complete construction projects efficiently and to high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Tile Installation

: Install various types of tiles on floors, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using appropriate materials, tools, and methods.

Preparation of Surfaces

: Prepare surfaces for tiling, including cleaning, leveling, and priming as needed. Ensure surfaces are smooth, dry, and ready for tile application.

Tile Cutting

: Measure and cut tiles to fit various spaces and patterns using tile cutters, saws, or other tools.

Grouting and Sealing

: Apply grout between tiles, clean excess grout, and apply sealants as required.

Plastering - surface preparation:

Clean and prepare the surface (walls, ceilings, or other surfaces) to ensure proper adhesion of the plaster. Repair cracks or damages in the surface before applying plaster.

Mixing Plaster:

Mix plaster to the required consistency, ensuring it's ready for application. Ensure the right type and proportions of materials are used.

Applying Plaster:

Apply plaster to the surface using trowels or other tools, ensuring an even and smooth finish. Apply multiple layers of plaster, if necessary, for a more durable and finished look.

Smoothing and Finishing:

Smooth out rough areas using a float or trowel to create a flawless surface. Finish the edges neatly, ensuring the plaster does not crack or shrink as it dries.

Cleaning and Maintenance:

Clean tools and work areas regularly to avoid build-up of materials.

Block Masonry-Material Preparation:

Gather and organize the required materials such as blocks, mortar, and other tools.

Setting up Foundation:

Prepare and level the foundation or base where the blocks will be laid.

Laying Blocks:

Lay blocks in a consistent pattern, using mortar to bond them together. Ensure blocks are level and aligned correctly for stability and aesthetic consistency.

Cutting and Shaping Blocks:

Use appropriate tools to cut blocks as needed to fit the structure's design. Ensure proper spacing and alignment to achieve a strong and durable structure.

Mortar Application:

Mix and apply mortar between blocks, ensuring that joints are filled evenly. Smooth and shape the mortar joints for a neat finish.

Structural Integrity:

Check for the level, plumb, and alignment of each layer as you go. Ensure walls are straight, strong, and properly reinforced according to the building's requirements.

Layout and Design

: Plan and measure tile layouts to ensure symmetrical and visually appealing patterns. Follow blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions to achieve the desired design.

Quality Control

: Inspect completed work for accuracy, alignment, and overall quality. Ensure tiles are securely fixed and that the finish is flawless.

Repair and Maintenance

: Repair or replace damaged or broken tiles, including re-grouting or re-sealing where necessary.

Safety Compliance

: Follow all safety regulations and practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the proper handling of tools and materials.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a mason, with significant experience in the UAE.

In-depth knowledge of masonry techniques, materials, and tools.

Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in the UAE, particularly regarding safety and construction standards.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans.

Strong proficiency in working with brick, stone, concrete, tiles, and marble.

Experience in both residential and commercial masonry projects.

Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, durable work.

Ability to work independently and take initiative while maintaining high standards of work.

Good communication skills, with the ability to work well within a team.

Ability to mentor junior staff and apprentices effectively.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry heavy masonry materials and tools (up to [insert weight]).

Comfortable working in physically demanding environments, including outdoor and indoor spaces.

Able to work in a variety of conditions, including at heights or in confined spaces.

Working Conditions:

Work will be performed on construction sites, including both residential and commercial properties.

Adherence to UAE safety regulations and use of PPE is mandatory.

Maximum Salary 1600 AED plus overtime
