What Does a General Manager - Gas Power Plant Do?
As General Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of a gas power plant project, from feasibility and setup to day-to-day operational management. You'll guide the strategic direction, align with Azizi's corporate goals, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead multidisciplinary teams toward timely and cost-effective delivery.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Lead the setup, commissioning, and full operational management of a gas power plant in Afghanistan.
- Advise Azizi's leadership on the financial and technical feasibility of new gas power initiatives.
- Ensure plant efficiency, availability, and compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Stay updated on gas turbine advancements and combined-cycle systems for continuous optimization.
- Identify and develop new energy-related business opportunities aligned with Azizi's strategic expansion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to drive successful project delivery.
- Monitor plant performance metrics, implement cost control strategies, and oversee maintenance planning.
- Represent the energy venture in high-level board discussions and investor briefings.
What Skills Are Needed for a General Manager - Gas Power Plant in Dubai?
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years in senior energy sector leadership roles.
- At least 5 years specifically in gas power plant operations, setup, and commissioning.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale infrastructure and energy projects.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of gas turbine systems, combined cycle technologies, and digital plant operations.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Sound understanding of regulatory compliance, safety protocols, and financial planning.
