Job Summary:

The

General Accountant

is responsible for managing the restaurant's complete financial cycle, including daily accounting operations, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, and selected HR administrative functions. This role ensures financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while supporting management in maintaining the highest standards of accountability and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:Accounting & Finance

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the restaurant. Manage daily accounting entries, including revenue, expenses, petty cash, and journal vouchers. Prepare monthly financial statements, profit and loss reports, and balance sheets. Oversee bank reconciliations, supplier payments, and collections. Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and handle periodic VAT filings. Support internal and external audits as required.

Accounts Payable & Purchasing

Verify supplier invoices and match them with purchase orders and delivery notes. Maintain supplier ledgers and ensure timely settlement of accounts. Collaborate with the purchasing department to monitor cost control and supplier performance. Reconcile inventory purchase records with storekeepers and cost controllers.

Payroll & HR Support

Process monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy in attendance, overtime, and deductions. Prepare WPS files and coordinate with HR for salary transfers. Maintain employee files, leave records, and HR documentation in compliance with UAE labor law. Assist in onboarding new employees and ensure completion of finance-related HR procedures.

Systems & Reporting

Operate and update accounting systems (including POS, inventory, and payroll integrations). Generate management reports for cost control, budget analysis, and cash flow forecasting. Recommend process improvements to strengthen financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3-5 years of experience in F&B or hospitality accounting (UAE experience preferred). Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems). Familiarity with UAE labor law, payroll processing, and the WPS system. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
