JOB TITLE GCC RD Cross-Franchise Strategy & Planning Head

ROLE SUMMARY Support BUD in building long term strategic plan including launch excellence, capability building and deep dives to identify transformative ideas to accelerate patient identification and maintenance across RD franchises. Working with corporate affairs to drive one RD internal and external narrative to support policy shaping discussions. Plans, directs, and oversees a wide range of analyses, related to the current and future business of the AZ in GCC cluster. Directs all analytical activities for RD therapeutic area. May work with outside consultants to perform complex analyses. Working with the Business unit Cross Functional Team to ensure plans\xe2\x80\x99 alignment across different brands & diseases, Coordinates & supervises the business planning cycle for the RD. What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do Cross-Franchise Strategy Development
  • Work closely with BUD to build RD long term strategic plan including capability assessment and cross-franchise collaboration projects and potential synergies across the organization
  • Think strategically to proactively identify RD cross-franchises business challenges or opportunities
  • Identify synergies with other BUs and facilitate synergy execution across BUs
Business planning and process enhancement
  • Coordinates & supervises the business planning cycle for Rare Disease and responsible for alignment across different therapeutic areas
  • Coordinate and own the launch excellence process for new assets or indications across RD franchises
  • Contribute to the development or revision of market strategies.
  • Participate in brand/market evaluation and interpretation and provide strategic business insight to the Brand Team
Opportunity identification and driving innovative solutions
  • Define the range of common problems and/or opportunities facing the brand team; plan, prioritize and oversee research and analysis, and communicate insight & recommendations for high quality, evidence-driven marketing decisions
  • Coordinate team effort in building robust patient tracking tools and coordinate deep dives that will accelerate and transform our approach in patient identification, referral/linkage to care and patient maintenance across RD franchises
Policy Shaping and internal/external communication
  • Work as Air Traffic Controller with franchise and market access heads to harmonize team efforts around policy shaping activities and external communications in collaboration with corporate affairs team
  • Own and coordinate overall RD internal/external communication narrative, e.g., RD day activities
Business Insights
  • Determine primary market research design and oversee project/vendor management to address identified opportunities or challenges
  • Utilizes complex statistical methods to draw conclusions. Offers insight to influence sales & marketing strategy.
  • Determines appropriate data sources and proactively provides analysis to address business issues and opportunities
Corporate responsibility:
  • Maintains highest ethical standards and work in a spirit of AstraZeneca Code of Ethics, following rules & norms set by corporate policies
  • Ensures that all conducted activities are done in accordance with local legislation and corporate standards.
  • Timely reports (as per respective procedures): health/environment/wellbeing related accidents; adverse events that you became aware about; change in status of your Conflict of Interest.

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years experience with consistent success in Strategic marketing & brand planning and project management
  • Rare Disease and/or Specialty experience
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Ability to synthesize and integrate the varied sources of insight required to set brand team strategy and tactics
  • Business acumen and analytical skills
  • Stakeholders\xe2\x80\x99 management
  • Strategic thinking
Desirable for the role
  • GCC markets knowledge
  • Broad-based commercial experience including marketing and/or sales
