Job Description

Tasks:
1. Follow sketches, patterns, or blueprints to indicate cutting lines on fabrics using chalks, pencils
or paints.
2. Measure and cut materials using manual or automated cutting instruments.
3. Confirm with customers prior to upholstery to determine their color, style, and fabric
preferences.
4. Remove anchoring tacks and strip upholstered furniture down to its wooden frame.
5. Examine furniture frames, springs, and webbings to identify defects.
6. Apply their knowledge of upholstery to build or repair upholstered furniture using a variety of
hand or power tools.
7. Ensure projects are completed and delivered before set deadline.
8. Cover wooden frame with soft materials such as cotton, felt pad, fiber or foam to improve
texture and appearance.
9. Secure work pieces and materials unto production equipment.
10. Conduct routine maintenance of work tools and upholstery machine.
11. Finish upholstered furniture by attaching ornament trims, buttons, buckles, and grommets.
12. Operate sewing machine to sew upholstery and join various sections of covering fabric.
13. Replace defective or worn upholstery spring, webbing or wooden frame.
14. Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
15. Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge. 16. Repair or build furniture. Capability:
1. Proven work experience as an Upholsterer.
2. Excellent design skills.
3. Detail-oriented.
4. Ability to draw and interpret design templates.
5. Knowledge of upholstery tools including hot knives, nail guns, and sewing equipment.
6. Ability to lift, pull, and manipulate heavy objects.
7. Ability to stand, kneel, and walk for up to eight hours a day. Job Type: Full-time Salary: From AED2,000.00 per month Ability to commute/relocate:
