The Formwork and Shoring Design Engineer role at Azizi Developments supports the delivery of safe, efficient, and buildable temporary works solutions for building and infrastructure projects in Dubai. This position focuses on engineering design, drawings, calculations, and site support for formwork, shoring, and associated systems, ensuring full compliance with standards, quality procedures, and project requirements.

Role Summary
The role prepares engineered formwork and shoring solutions, produces drawings and calculations, coordinates with suppliers and site teams, and supports timely project delivery. The position works closely with Team Leaders and Senior Engineers within the temporary works design function.
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare formwork and shoring design solutions for building and infrastructure projects
• Develop General Arrangement drawings, assembly drawings, basic steel fabrication drawings, and 2D and 3D models
• Carry out independent design calculations using standard data sheets, design tables, Excel templates, in-house tools, and structural analysis software
• Apply proprietary formwork systems such as PERI, Doka, or equivalent solutions
• Prepare accurate material take-offs, material lists, and schedules
• Maintain proper engineering documentation, drawing registers, and design records

Project and Team Support

• Work closely with Team Leaders, Senior Engineers, and the wider design team to meet project timelines
• Participate in project coordination meetings when required
• Provide technical support to site teams during erection, modification, and construction stages
• Liaise with suppliers and fabricators to obtain technical data and standard system details

Quality, Safety, and Compliance

• Ensure all outputs comply with relevant BS and European Standards, Codes of Practice, and company engineering procedures
• Follow company quality management systems and document control requirements
• Apply safe design principles across all engineering deliverables
• Implement checking procedures and respond promptly to design comments and feedback

Learning and Development

• Develop technical knowledge of formwork, shoring, and scaffolding systems
• Participate in internal training, CPD activities, and supplier product training
• Build capability in interpreting structural and architectural drawings and construction sequencing
• Strengthen proficiency in AutoCAD, structural analysis software, and company design tools
• Attend site visits when required to gain construction and erection experience
• Perform related duties as assigned by Senior Engineers or management

Ideal Profile

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline
• Experience in formwork, shoring, or temporary works design is preferred
• Familiarity with proprietary formwork systems and BS or European standards
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clear drawings and calculations
• Good communication and coordination skills with design and site teams
