A Sheet Metal Fabricator is responsible for cutting, bending, shaping, assembling, and installing sheet metal components for construction, HVAC, automotive, marine, and industrial applications. The role requires technical skills, precision, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Measure, mark, cut, bend, roll, and shape sheet metal using hand tools and machinery.
Operate fabrication equipment such as shears, press brakes, rollers, and welding machines.
Assemble and join sheet metal parts using welding, soldering, riveting, or fasteners.
Conduct grinding, polishing, and finishing of fabricated components.
Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with project standards.
Repair or modify existing sheet metal parts when required.
Follow workplace safety guidelines and maintain tools/equipment.
Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a sheet metal fabricator or metal worker.
Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring tools.
Skilled in operating sheet metal fabrication machines.
Knowledge of welding, soldering, or riveting techniques.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical stamina and ability to handle heavy materials.
Familiarity with workplace safety standards.
