Foreman (General & Trades: Finishing, Mason, Carpenter, Steel-Fixer, Civil)
Reports To: Site Engineer / General Supervisor
Summary: The Foreman is the direct leader of a crew of workers (10-30). They are responsible for the hands-on execution of work, translating daily instructions into completed tasks safely, on time, and to the required quality.
Key Responsibilities:

• All Foremen: Directly supervise and allocate tasks to a team of tradesmen and laborers. Ensure toolbox talks are conducted and safety rules are followed. Monitor daily productivity and report progress to the Site Engineer. Control material usage on site to minimize waste. Maintain good housekeeping in their work area.
• General Foreman: Oversees multiple trade activities in a designated area, coordinating between different trade foremen.
• Finishing Foreman: Specializes in supervising plastering, tiling, painting, ceiling, and flooring crews. Critical for aesthetic quality control.
• Mason Foreman: Supervises block work, brickwork, stone cladding, and plastering crews.
• Carpenter Foreman: Supervises formwork (shuttering) construction, installation, and stripping for concrete works. May also oversee architectural woodwork.
• Steel-Fixer Foreman: Supervises the cutting, bending, fixing, and tying of reinforcement steel (rebar) as per structural drawings.
• Civil Foreman: Often oversees general civil works like excavation, backfilling, concreting, and drainage installation.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification is highly valued.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience as a skilled tradesman, with 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
• Expert hands-on knowledge of their specific trade.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings relevant to their trade.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in the language of the workforce (often bilingual).
