Role: Food Safety Officer / QA
We are seeking a detail-oriented
Food Safety Officer / QA
to oversee compliance with food safety standards in our Dubai facility. This role is critical to ensuring our kitchens operate to the highest hygiene, safety, and quality assurance standards.
Responsibilities
Food Safety & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with UAE municipal regulations, HACCP, and company food safety standards
Implement and maintain the Food Safety Management System (FSMS), including documentation
Conduct routine hygiene inspections across receiving, storage, preparation, and dispatch areas
Staff Hygiene Monitoring:
Enforce staff grooming, uniform, and personal hygiene standards
Conduct daily checks and keep records of hygiene observations
Take immediate corrective actions when required
Quality Assurance:
Monitor quality of raw materials, in-process items, and finished meals
Ensure proper labeling (production/expiry dates) and correct storage temperatures
Identify non-conformities and drive corrective/preventive measures
Training & Development:
Provide training to kitchen and store staff on GMP, hygiene, and food safety
Conduct refresher sessions on personal hygiene, cleaning schedules, and contamination prevention
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain temperature logs, hygiene checklists, pest control records, and audit documentation
Submit daily and monthly food safety performance reports to management
Prepare required documents for inspections and third-party audits
Audits & Investigations:
Lead internal audits and support external audits/inspections
Investigate food safety incidents or customer complaints
Ensure timely closure of non-conformities
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field
2-4 years' experience in food safety or QA in a food production/service environment
HACCP Level 3 certification or higher (mandatory)
Strong knowledge of UAE food safety laws and municipality requirements
Experience monitoring staff hygiene and enforcing food safety practices
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and consistently enforce standards
