Job Description

Job Summary:
The Food Runner is responsible for delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables promptly and accurately. They ensure that dishes are presented correctly, maintain food quality standards, and assist the serving staff to provide an excellent dining experience. Food Runners also help with basic table maintenance, such as refilling drinks, clearing plates, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities: * Order Delivery:

• Pick up food orders from the kitchen and deliver them to the correct tables efficiently.
• Verify order accuracy with the ticket before serving.
• Ensure proper presentation (garnishes, sauces, sides) before serving.
• Customer Service:

• Interact politely with guests, answering basic questions about menu items.
• Assist servers by responding to guest requests (extra napkins, utensils, condiments).
• Notify servers or managers of any customer concerns or special requests.
• Table Maintenance:

• Clear empty plates, glasses, and utensils between courses.
• Assist in resetting tables for new guests when needed.
• Refill water glasses and bread baskets as required.
• Kitchen Coordination:

• Communicate with chefs and kitchen staff regarding order timing and special requests.
• Report any issues with food quality or presentation to the kitchen staff immediately.
• Cleanliness & Organization:

• Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, server stations, and kitchen pass.
• Follow health and safety regulations (food handling, sanitation).
• Team Support:

• Assist servers, bussers, and hosts as needed to ensure smooth service.
• Help with side work, such as folding napkins, stocking supplies, and prepping condiments.

• No formal education required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in a restaurant (as a busser, host, or food runner) is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail to ensure order accuracy.
• Physical stamina to stand/walk for long periods and carry trays.
• Knowledge of food safety standards is beneficial.
