supports kitchen operations by performing routine tasks such as preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting chefs or cooks. This role is essential to ensuring timely, hygienic, and efficient meal preparation in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Wash, peel, chop, and slice fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients.
Measure and prepare ingredients according to recipes or instructions from cooks and chefs.
Set up workstations with needed ingredients and cooking tools.
Label and store food items properly to maintain freshness and safety.
Assist in basic cooking tasks as needed (e.g., assembling simple dishes or salads).
Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment in compliance with food safety standards.
Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas before and after use.
Dispose of trash and waste appropriately.
Follow all health, safety, and hygiene standards consistently.
Support other kitchen staff as directed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not always required)
Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is a plus
Basic understanding of food safety practices and kitchen hygiene
Ability to follow directions and work under supervision
Good physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if needed
