Fluting Operator - Job Title:

Fluting Operator / Roll Fluting Technician

Maintenance / Milling Operations

Reports To:

Mill Maintenance Supervisor

Job Purpose:

The Fluting Operator is responsible for maintaining and re-fluting the rollers of milling machines to ensure optimal grinding efficiency and product quality. This role includes operating specialized fluting machines, performing precision measurements, and ensuring rolls are correctly grooved based on milling specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate

roll fluting machines

to create or renew

grooves (flutes)

on roller mill cylinders. Measure and mark

flute profiles

, spacing, and depth based on miller instructions or technical drawings. Perform

maintenance

,

cleaning

, and

alignment

of fluting equipment and tools. Inspect worn-out rollers and determine whether re-fluting or replacement is required. Maintain a record of fluting specifications, completed jobs, and roller life cycles. Coordinate with milling operators to ensure rolls meet

grinding performance requirements

. Follow

safety procedures

and use

personal protective equipment (PPE)

during operations. Ensure

quality control

during and after the fluting process.

QualificationsEducation:

High school diploma or technical certificate. Vocational training or apprenticeship in

mechanical technology

Experience:

Minimum

2-5 years

of experience in a milling plant or similar industrial environment. Prior experience operating

fluting, turning, or grinding machines

is an advantage. Understanding of
