JOB DISCRIPTION

Responsible in providing support to the Operations Control Centre (OCC), Lead the team of Flight Operations as well as Ground Operations and Crew Services to ensure safe, compliant, and flawless operation of all \'UAF\' aircraft and ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and embed a culture of customer focus and performance management to ensure high quality and continuous improvement in service delivery.
• Ensure regular and effective communication between other Business Unit(s).
• Ensure that the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s approach to data protection, security and retention complies with best practice and that policies and procedures are effectively implemented.
• To develop, continuously improve and implement the organisations approach to risk management.
• To maintain a positive, appropriate and professional relationship with all staff, partners and members
• Continuously demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness in managing allocated resources for his/her department
• Exercise operational control and flight supervision, Decide on initiation, continuation, diversion, and cancellation of flights due to operational or environmental factors.
• Monitor weather conditions, aircraft position reports, and aeronautical l navigation charts to evaluate the progress of flight.
• Update the pilot in command of significant changes to weather or flight plan and recommends flight plan alternates, such as changing course, altitude and, if required, enroute landings in the interest of safety and economy.
• Act as 24hr Operations Duty Executive on a rotating roster basis
• Maintain an awareness of developing operating constraints that may reasonably be expected to negatively impact on flights, and for ensuring that the best corporate operating plan or solution is delivered in keeping with customer service and fiscal requirements.
• Communicate with senior managements for issues during a flight which may require further operational approval.
• Ensure that all Operations Control personnel are provided with adequate training, suitable to the position being held within the department
• Maintain a log & ensure that any system discrepancies for the day related to IT or vendor management are solved
• Ensure daily shift log subjected to Dispatch, planning and DOM functions are completed and handed over in written format.
• In coordination with the Operations Senior Manager, ensure BEST customer services by analysing the crew feedback forms (KPIs) as well as strict adherence to the company policies and SOPs.
• Ensure that staff performing all duties is valid on day with their recurrence and proficiency check.

Skills

• Minimum 7-9 years of work experience in an Airline / Military operations environment of which a minimum 3 years\' experience must be in a supervisory role.
• University Degree or equivalent.
• Valid Flight dispatch license holder
• Recurrence and proficiency check must be current and valid all times
• ICAO level proficiency 4 for aviation language.
• DGR CAT 10 Trained would be preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and coaching skills with a passion for developing others
• Strong communication skills in both written and oral
• Strong planning, organizing, and integration skills
• Strong knowledge in the development and implementation of policies & procedures
• Meticulous attention to detail
