The Role
This role will report to the Production Manager and will be responsible for the overall performance of our Flight Preparation and Assembly department. Key Responsibilities The Flight Assembly Officer plays an integral role within the business, this function is responsible for leading an efficient flight preparation and tray set department ensuring all completed flights are assembled to approved specifications which meet the approved GLP standard. In addition to this, the Flight Assembly Officer will work with the Executive Sous Chef and establish minimum and maximum stock holding to maintain optimum performance during flight build and tray setting. People & Safety \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensures adequate resources are deployed during peak and off-peak periods. \xe2\x80\xa2 Develops a high-performance culture through target setting and performance related discussions. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensures all employees operate to standard operating procedures and remain safe. \xe2\x80\xa2 Develops, trains, and leads the team to the highest standard. Fresh Assembly and Tray Setting \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensures the team have direct access to all flight specifications and are periodically trained and assessed. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provides clear insight and direction to the Portioning Department on the daily meal volume requirement KPI\xe2\x80\x99s and end of shift buffer stock holding KPI\xe2\x80\x99s ensuring the right product is portioned and adequately chilled in readiness for flight assembly / tray set. \xe2\x80\xa2 Develops a minimum and maximum stock holding requirement in Flight Preparation Chillers highlighting to the business when these stock levels are depleted. \xe2\x80\xa2 Develops and maintains buffer stock for high-risk orders/products factoring in additional flights, last minute orders, late uplifts, and upgrades at check-in. \xe2\x80\xa2 Works with the Ware Wash Department and ensures the right equipment is being washed based on flight preparation KPI\xe2\x80\x99s and dispatch priority. \xe2\x80\xa2 Creates clear and visible Flight Preparation KPI\xe2\x80\x99s factoring in Portioning and Ware Wash requirements. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensures flights are assembled to the correct specification and galley loading plan requirement (GLP). \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensures all CCPs (Critical Control Points) are achieved within the department. \xe2\x80\xa2 Oversees the performance of flow wrapping and ensures the team processes the required volume. \xe2\x80\xa2 Monitor inventory levels of food items and packaging materials and ensure minimum and maximum holding requirements are in place and visible. \xe2\x80\xa2 Uses data extracted from existing systems and develops Flight Build KPI\xe2\x80\x99s for Retail Onboard, Buy Online, Cabin Crew Tray Setting, and other flights. \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintains strict quality control standards to guarantee the freshness and safety of assembled products. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provides insights to the wider department on potential improved packing methods enhancing product integrity or maximizing space within airline catering equipment without compromising on quality. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensures the team consistently conducts equipment checks prior to flight assembly and defective equipment is removed from operations. \xe2\x80\xa2 Develops CAPEX and OPEX requirements based on assembly KPI\xe2\x80\x99s and rotating buffer equipment. \xe2\x80\xa2 Proactively manages all equipment requirements to complete a flight / tray set. \xe2\x80\xa2 Works in collaboration with Operations and Procurement to place orders for equipment deficits. \xe2\x80\xa2 Develops minimum and maximum equipment holding requirements for Assembly Equipment for e.g., napkins, cutlery, trays for Y, J Class, etc.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience \xe2\x80\xa2 3 to 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience within a Flight Assembly Function. \xe2\x80\xa2 Proven experience in food production or assembly, preferably in the airline catering industry. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions. \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent organizational and time management skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Effective communication and leadership abilities. \xe2\x80\xa2 Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
