The Role
Job Objective The Duty Officer is responsible for all shift related activities in the operations departments, including the ware wash and flight preparation functions which is accomplished by directing and leading the catering team leaders and members. Job Responsibilities \xe2\x80\xa2 Accountabilities related to preparation/scheduling of work or actions which need to be completed. Reviewing and reporting performance. \xe2\x80\xa2 Coordinates between airside and landside operations to optimize the deployment of staffing resource, that is most cost efficient and delivers a full dispatch to aircraft on time \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for the development of the supervisory team. \xe2\x80\xa2 Supports the Senior Duty Officer and Operations Manager in establishing current and future resource requirement by evaluating operational improvements or risk mitigation as and when required \xe2\x80\xa2 The Duty Officer assumes the role of \xe2\x80\x98person in charge\xe2\x80\x99 for the airside and landside operations when the senior duty officers and the Operations Manager are not on site \xe2\x80\xa2 Accountabilities connected to managing the \xe2\x80\x98execution\xe2\x80\x99 of the work and ensuring adequate performance levels to ensure the \xe2\x80\x98work gets done\xe2\x80\x99 on time, to quality and safety standards and within cost. \xe2\x80\xa2 Personally, interacts with senior cabin crew and VIP catering management to help provide a seamless and timely service delivery \xe2\x80\xa2 Uses local knowledge and negotiation skills when trying to fulfil the stretched demands of customers, even at short notice and in doing so works hand in hand with the procurement team. \xe2\x80\xa2 Understands the behavioural and performance standards of his direct reports, and takes appropriate and consistent actions that fall in line with Group protocols in relation to training and disciplinary proceedings to encourage relevant improvement \xe2\x80\xa2 Acts as the shift standard bearer in regards 5s methodology, and conducts daily audits against agreed standards, and takes corrective actions where required. \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for all safety audits and inspections, and acts as the standard bearer on the shift in regards safety management. \xe2\x80\xa2 Is accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of service delivery for all flights during the shift by monitoring supervisory activities, maintaining the provided KPI\xe2\x80\x99s relating to staff performance \xe2\x80\xa2 Is accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of service delivery for all flights during the shift by monitoring supervisory activities, maintaining the provided KPI\xe2\x80\x99s relating to staff performance \xe2\x80\xa2 Accountable for the accuracy of the inventory counts across the shift, where discrepancies may lead to financial loss for Alpha \xe2\x80\xa2 Communicating throughout the shift with the kitchen team, the replenishment team and ware wash to ensure a smooth and timely flow of materials and equipment to the flight prep function \xe2\x80\xa2 Support and leadership for the operations controllers, cashiers, and replenishment teams when the Administration Support Supervisor is not on duty \xe2\x80\xa2 Personal management of all VIP requirements on the shift, from procurement, liaising with the kitchen and sourcing the required goods and equipment, and communication with the client throughout \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for all daily tool box talks, and capturing all relevant concerns and comments from staff during these processes

Requirements
  • The candidate must have relevant experience in flight catering or similar of at least 5 years and up \xe2\x80\xa2 The candidates should possess strong leadership and management skills \xe2\x80\xa2 The candidates must be willing to work on-site and can start as soon as possible \xe2\x80\xa2 Preferably with background from any of the reputed flight catering companies in the UAE
