ENGIE\xe2\x80\x99s Business Unit (BU) for the Asia, Middle East, and Africa (AMEA) headquartered in Dubai, has activities in large scale power generation and water desalination, gas retail & distribution, LNG and energy services for B2B customers. Leveraging on its strong positions, the BU is developing its presence in renewable energies, in the gas value chain and in energy efficiency services.
Objective
Contribute to the technical follow-up and support of operating assets within the Thermal Fleet on operational performance, revenues, and costs optimization as well as asset Availability and Reliably improvement. Take the responsibility of this function for a part of the fleet or for some parts of the function for the whole fleet. Lead the Digital initiatives and solutions developed and implemented for the Thermal and Water Generation Fleet, including ERP and CRM solutions. Coordinate these actions with Engie Digital and with BU AMEA Digital Officer. Assists the Revenues and Costs Optimization studies of plants and any peer reviews engaged on performance and efficiency. Contribute to the various reporting of the fleet, on performance, technical and environmental aspects. Coordinate and deliver part of this reporting (Environment for instance). Provide technical support to Asset Management and Development Teams for brown field projects of existing assets and for improving economics and efficiency of new projects.
Scope
All elements related to the fleet technical and economic performance assessment, as well as relevant reporting and follow-up, for existing assets and for their evolution in time.

The position report to the Performance Manager Senior \xe2\x80\x93 Power and Water Generation Fleet
Internal Interfaces
All other Technical Support Managers within the TOS organization. Finance and Budget Control team. Regional COO\xe2\x80\x99s, O&M GMs and O&M managers at integrated owner-operator companies. Technical staff within the O&M companies and integrated owner-operator companies. Global Business Line Thermal. Engie competence centres (Laborelec, EMS\xe2\x80\xa6) Engie Digital.
External Interfaces
OEMs and equipment vendors in general. External providers of technical expertise.
Job Responsibilities
Policies, standards, and procedures:
  • Conduct analyses required to identify critical operational performance issues in need of better policies, standards, or procedures.
  • Implement policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Monitor practice and compliance in the field.

Digital
  • Design and manage the Digital Road map for Thermal fleet of BU AMEA.
  • Promote solutions either on top-down initiatives or bottom-up innovation.
  • Propose and support managers involvement in Digital Project governance.
  • In coordination with O&M companies and Asset Companies as well as BU Finance and Budget Control, propose and control resources and value creation for the Digital solutions.

Technical support
  • Support \xe2\x80\x9cfirst line of assistance\xe2\x80\x9d to O&M companies, integrated owner-operator companies, project developers or others looking for technical support.
  • Support the O&M companies and integrated owner-operator companies in influencing and challenging the OEMs\' O&M proposals in terms of cost-benefit for the O&M company and/or Project Co.
  • Support other functions within the TOS organization, on LTSA, Technical training, Construction, BD.

Lead or participate in transversal O&M projects
  • Contribute to the terms of reference of the project.
  • Mobilize the expertise and resources required.
  • Contribute technical expertise.
  • Drive the project to success full completion.

Knowledge management
  • Liaise with the BU AMEA Knowledge Manager to support the operation of networks and the use of knowledge management tools across the fleet.
  • Co- Manage the database of key report of assets and fleet performance.
  • Promote any tools and solutions to improve knowledge sharing and performance control and reporting.
Qualifications
  • Engineering degree.
  • Around 5 - 7 years technical work experience in the field of Power Generation and Water Desalination Performance Monitoring, Operation and Maintenance.
  • Previous experience as Performance Manager or Project Leader.

Specific Knowledge / Skills
  • Knowledge of Operation and maintenance aspects of Power Generation and water Desalination plants mainly Combined Cycle Power Plants.
  • Knowledge of Thermodynamics and theoretical basis of Power Generation and water desalination.
  • Knowledge of International and local Standards and policies that govern the Performance testing of Power and Desalination Plants.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office tools mainly Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of data to produce operational and performance reports of the fleet.
  • Service orientation.
  • Curiosity required to stay up-to-date in technical fields of interest.
  • Ability to translate quantitative analysis, field experience and good practice in procedures and standards.
  • Ability to understand the nature of a technical issue quickly and effectively, and to define a number of potential alternative solutions.
  • Good knowledge of diverse sources of in-depth technical expertise both internally (within O&M companies, at BU AMEA) and externally (vendors, engineering companies,)
  • Ability to mobilize technical experts and bringing them together for the solution of an issue.
  • Ardent user and promotor of various knowledge management and sharing practices and tools, including Yammer.
  • Sound analytical skills required to identify common technical issues and opportunities across the fleet.
  • The ability to translate a complex technical issue in clear management language.
  • Solid understanding of the economic aspects of technical solutions (e.g. for new project development, maintenance optimization, asset lifetime management, vendor negotiations,)
  • Ability to play an important role in transversal projects, both as a leader and team member.
  • Strong interpersonal and network management skills.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.

Business Understanding
  • Sound knowledge of the energy business.
  • Sound knowledge on Digital innovation.

Location / Travel
  • Dubai / as required within the region.
