The job of the Fleet Manager shall include but not limited to:

Deciding the vehicles to be bought and how they are to be equipped based on company protocols.
Oversees the sale and/or auction of used vehicles as at when due.
Regularly reports expenses and performances of the fleet to the management.
Maintains budgetary, scheduling, and project database oversight, and reports regularly to senior management about progress, plans, and problems that could affect costs or schedules.
Ensures compliance with government regulations related to transportation and logistics.
Takes preventive measures to ensure safety of vehicles and drivers. Manage compliance, quality control, and quality assurance standards and specifications.
Anticipates and resolves day-to-day issues, complete root cause failure analyses, and take corrective actions.

Other responsibilities include:

Monitors fuel purchases by administering fuel cards for all vehicles to their respective drivers in order to regulate costs/expenses.
Manages delivery times and allocates staff resources according to changing needs.
Liaises and negotiates with customers and suppliers.
Strategize with various internal business units and vendors to identify opportunities for continuous improvements to the current supply chain network Implements health and safety procedures and manages staff training.
