The Civil/MEP Fit-Out Engineer is responsible for overseeing the coordination, implementation, and execution of civil and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) works related to interior fit-out projects. This role ensures that all works are carried out to the highest standards of quality, safety, and in line with project timelines, specifications, and client requirements.
Oversee and coordinate all civil and MEP fit-out works on-site.
Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure project milestones are met.
Manage daily site activities and monitor progress against schedule.
2. Technical Oversight
Review and interpret civil and MEP drawings, technical submittals, and shop drawings.
Ensure installation of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical systems, and other MEP components comply with design and regulations.
Monitor construction methods and materials to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
3. Quality Assurance & Safety
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to safety regulations.
Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections and approvals.
Ensure that safety measures and guidelines are being followed by all personnel on site.
4. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
Document site activities, variations, issues, and resolutions.
Assist in preparing project handover documentation and as-built drawings.
5. Client & Stakeholder Communication
Participate in site meetings with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders.
Provide technical advice and resolve on-site issues promptly.
Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3-7 years of experience in civil/MEP fit-out projects, preferably in commercial, retail, or hospitality sectors.
Strong knowledge of MEP systems, interior fit-out processes, and construction methodologies.
Familiarity with local building codes, health and safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and MS Office. Knowledge of BIM/Revit is an advantage.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
