We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused
Fishmonger
to manage our fresh fish and seafood counter. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of various fish and seafood species, expert filleting and preparation skills, and a commitment to maintaining impeccable hygiene standards. You will be responsible for ensuring our display is consistently stocked with top-quality products and for providing outstanding service and advice to our valued customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and store fresh fish and seafood deliveries, ensuring quality and freshness.
Expertly scale, cut, clean, portion, and fillet a wide variety of fish and shellfish according to customer requests and display needs.
Prepare and arrange attractive and well-maintained displays of fresh seafood on ice, ensuring proper labeling and pricing.
Provide excellent customer service, offering knowledgeable advice on product selection, cooking methods, and storage.
Process customer orders accurately and efficiently, including weighing, packaging, and handling payments.
Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the fish counter area, including tools, equipment, and display units.
Adhere strictly to all food safety and health regulations, including HACCP principles.
Monitor stock levels, rotate products (FIFO), and minimize waste.
Assist with inventory management and ordering as required.
Be knowledgeable about the origin and sustainability of products where applicable.
