Job Summary:
As a Fire Watcher, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our facility. Your primary responsibility will be to continuously monitor designated areas for potential fire hazards and take immediate action in case of any emergency.
Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular patrols of the designated areas, checking for any potential fire hazards such as faulty equipment, combustible materials or blocked exits
• Monitor the facility's fire detection and suppression systems, responding promptly to any alarms or notifications
• Conduct routine inspections of fire extinguishers and other fire safety equipment, ensuring they are in proper working condition
• Keep accurate records of all inspections and report any findings or concerns to the supervisor
• Communicate and coordinate with other team members and emergency services in case of a fire or other emergency situation
• Conduct fire safety training for staff and visitors, emphasizing the importance of fire safety precautions and procedures
• Assist in developing and implementing fire safety protocols and procedures for the facility

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in fire safety or emergency response is preferred
• Basic understanding of fire safety and prevention techniques
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergency situations
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Physically fit, able to stand and walk for extended periods and able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if necessary
