Under general supervision, is responsible for fire extinguisher training, First Aid & CPR, work of average difficulty; and performs related wotk as required, as responsibility for promoting and/or instructing Fire Service programs to various clients & Govemment agencies. The instructor has the responsibility for instructing courses in the Academy and sometimes offacademy premises. Evaluates training curnculum to ensure that most recent national standards are incorporated into the training matenal. Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation among students and staff.
Enforces all Academy safety standards and policies, Lectures in a classroom setting and conducts hands-on lab demonstrations. Writes lesson plans related to fire-fighting theory and fire extinguishing techniques, fire cabinets and other equipment. Methods for first aid and AED rescue to a achieve classroom goals of the leaming objectives. Develops instructional tools if packaged materials or textbooks are unavailable. Obtains information from supen,\'isor as it relates to training materials, student information, class assignments, and resources available for the class. Lifts heavy objects and carries equipment during fire ground evolutions.
Develops and administers oral, written and performance tests to measure students\' achievement of specified leaming objectives Demonstrates cross culture sensitivity and understanding. Documents students\' records and class records to show that all Academy, accreditation, and legal requirements have been met. Documents any injunes or illnesses occurring during training activities.
