Overview
The Fire Fighting System Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and other related equipment. The technician ensures that all systems are functioning properly and in compliance with local, state, and federal fire safety regulations.
Qualification
Educational Qualification: ITI/ITC/Diploma in Engineering with minimum 5 years of work experience in
Installation servicing / maintenance of Fire Alarm systems).
GCC Experience is Mandatory
Install fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, fire pumps, and other fire suppression systems according to blueprints, specifications, and safety standards.
Perform wiring and connection of fire alarm control panels, detectors, and other system components.
Conduct regular inspections of fire protection systems to ensure they are functioning properly and meet code requirements.
Perform functional tests on alarms, sprinklers, and other equipment, documenting results and recommending corrective actions if needed.
Test and calibrate fire detection systems and equipment according to manufacturers' specifications.
Perform routine maintenance on fire systems, such as replacing batteries, checking water pressure in sprinkler systems, and inspecting electrical connections.
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with fire protection systems and repair or replace faulty components.
Ensure that all repairs and maintenance are performed in a timely and efficient manner.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, maintenance, and repairs.
Ensure that all work complies with relevant fire codes, standards, and regulations, such as NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards.
Provide recommendations for upgrades or replacements of systems to ensure compliance with evolving fire safety standards.
Communicate effectively with clients to explain inspection findings, maintenance needs, and system operations.
Strong understanding of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, and suppression systems.
Knowledge of relevant fire safety codes, regulations, and standards (e.g., NFPA).
Proficient in the use of tools and equipment required for installing and maintaining fire protection systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and manufacturer instructions.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with fire systems quickly and effectively.
Timely submit Service reports to Team Leader.
