Job Description

Imperium Commodity Search are working with a family-owned metals & minerals trading company headquartered in Switzerland, currently looking for an experienced financial controller with a commodity trading background to join their expanding team in Dubai and support the current CFO - the ideal candidate will have strong accounting experience and a thorough knowledge of IFRS.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Improve the group's financial performance through strategic financial planning and development
• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions.
• Work closely with the management team in accomplishing the group's financial objectives
• Financial & Accounting Operation Management
• Financial Statements/Trial Balance Consolidating
• Liaising with the CFO on financial operation
• Monitor and enforce operational and internal control procedures as well as the company's internal financial control environment.
• Perform Monthly, quarterly and year end closing in accordance with the internal and external deadlines.
• Controls and plans of all audit requirements within set deadlines the auditors
• Develop, train, and contribute to continuously improving the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the finance team on the requirements from HQ / internal Audit / External Audit
• Reports into CFO

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience working in a similar function within a commodity trading environment, ideally in Metals
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Thorough knowledge of IFRS
• Knowledge of government regulations relating to metallurgical plants and environmental issues is required.
• Proven track record working within an international trading company is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of organization.
• Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• Familiar with several accounting software is a plus
• Willing to work as part of a smaller, young, dynamic team
• Fluent in English, additional languages a bonus (Spanish, French, Mandarin etc.)
