Function: This is a key role in a well-established fintech that is scaling for growth. The position covers the important areas that a Finance Lead would take on but also includes ownership of the growing operational department, with a focus on day-to-day processes and procedures, improvements of these and ways they can be streamlined. Aimed at an individual with a strong financial grasp but who also wants to take on a wider mandate and own the operational aspect too. The role reports directly in the management team with direct exposure to key shareholders and the board.
Responsibilities & Skills:
Preparing timely and accurate management and statutory accounts and ad hoc reports in line with reporting deadlines
Financial reporting as required to management and Group ownership
Ensuring effective financial controls are in place and full compliance with regulations
Ensuring accurate and timely invoicing for partner bank contracts
Completing / managing tax returns
Completing all DFSA / DIFC / CMA / SAMA reporting as required
Management of the finance and operations team
Proactively leading system and process improvements
Working with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with regulations / reporting deadlines
Liaising with and supporting other areas of the business as required
Requirements
ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualification, preferably trained in practice with industry experience
Good fundamental accounting and Tax/VAT knowledge
Strong IT skills, extensive Excel proficiency
Ability to grasp and analyse complex detail whilst still seeing the bigger picture
Demonstrable team leadership and managerial skills
Team player and willing to build relationships and get involved at all levels in the organization
Enthusiasm and commitment to work the hours required to meet reporting deadlines
Understanding and experience of Internal Controls
Travel
There is no regular travel outside the GCC associated with this contract.
Salary:
The contract will be full-time. The monthly salary is AED35,000 which includes an annual flight allowance.
