Job Description

PURPOSE
Working closely with and provide support to the CFO GEMS School Management (GSM) on the overall due diligence and commercial feasibility of existing and future projects and business opportunities for GSM.
The role is responsible for overseeing the assimilation and analysis of data to develop commercially viable products (schools / ancillary value-add), which cater to GSM's target markets.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Develop financial models for new school opportunities to test projects' viability
• Ensure Target Financial thresholds are met, and assumptions and inputs are corroborated by valid assumptions
• Model stress-testing and sensitivity analysis for business development opportunities / business optimization
• Supporting the preparation of Investment Committee Pack to seek approval for capital deployment and securing stakeholder signoffs on assumptions and risks
• Financial analysis to facilitate decision making, commercial negotiations, and regulatory lobbying
• Work closely with GSM's Research Analyst to assimilate research data points for new market entry and existing market penetration

Skills
Qualifications & Expected Experience

• BA in Finance or related disciplines
• Qualification as ACA / ACCA / CFA / CPA
• 5+ years post-qualification experience in financial modelling and report writing
• Experience in K12 education sector is a plus

Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills

• Extensive experience in financial modelling using MS Excel
• Strong analysis and research ability in order to understand new markets and new opportunities
• Commercially astute
• Ability to assimilate and explain financial data to non-Finance stakeholders
• Ability to grasp and act upon market intelligence
• Excellent communication skills; written and oral with the ability and interpersonal skills to collaborate with peers and senior leaders
• Ability to work independently and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills
• Solid ability in problem solving and thinking outside the box
• Innovative and forward-thinking
