About the role The role holder is responsible for ad-hoc finance projects and improving/standardization of Financial processes at GMG; implementation of robust financial controls and financial risk management framework; ensuring adequate financial liquidity and working capital. Accurate and timely financial accounting and operational services across the GMG. To create the tools and ideas on ways to accelerate productivity, speed & accuracy. Core Responsibilities:
  • Automation of manual processes.
  • Standardization of process & policies
  • Process Improvements
  • Management of ADHOC request from Senior Management
  • Addresses financial issues such as balance sheet clean up in coordination with stakeholders.
  • Ensures efficient and effective management of Business Unit\xe2\x80\x99s finances through all necessary financial controls, systems and processes and ensures accuracy and integrity of the company\xe2\x80\x99s financial records.
  • Provide additional supports incase restructuring, heavy work load to insure that none of the teams are short of bandwidth when needed.
  • Provides guidance and advice, related to the management of cash flow, cost controls and expenses for different departments, identifying potential financial opportunities and weaknesses and recommending corrective actions.
  • Manages the delivery of various financial operations activities and ensures that these are in line with the GMG group\xe2\x80\x99s processes, guidelines and standards defined
  • Monitors financial performance versus the budget e.g. the operational budget, the seasonal buying budgets etc. to ensure awareness of anticipated costs/revenues, excesses/deficits, areas of unsatisfactory performance and potential performance improvement opportunities
  • Leads the following for Business areas:
  • o Accounts Payable (Projects and Operations) activities including processing of Accounts Payable Invoices, liquidations of advanced payments, preparation of Accounts Payable entries, Suppliers Reconciliation and Aging.
  • o Inventory recording and monitoring of received and issued items
  • o General Ledger entries including Fixed Assets depreciation and disposal, Fixed Assets reconciliation, pre-payments, accruals, inter-company transactions, and related parties, bank reconciliations, provisions and write-off
  • Leads the development of standard models for investment proposal preparation in line with the Group\xe2\x80\x99s policies and issues guidelines on analysis/methodologies and parameters, financial scenarios, sensitivity analysis etc. which aid in informed decision making by the Management Team and relevant stakeholders
  • Assesses risks associated with the financial transactions executed and collaborates closely with the CFO on monitoring and implementing them
  • Reviews and provides exceptions, variance, retail productivity, stock, sales, financial and budgetary analyses through MIS reporting for the respective Business Unit
People Management:
  • Defines goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team and ensures effective implementation of the GMG\xe2\x80\x99s performance management process
  • Develops talent within the team by providing guidance, mentoring and coaching to achieve the defined goals
  • Drives a culture of feedback and coaching in the Business Unit/ Department by providing feedback on an ongoing basis, identifying development needs and coaching the employees on the areas of improvement
