Job Summary:
The Finance Manager - Healthcare oversees financial operations, budgeting, reporting, and compliance within a healthcare organization (hospital, clinic, healthcare system, etc.). This role ensures financial stability, optimizes revenue cycles, and supports strategic decision-making while adhering to healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid billing).
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis:

• Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
• Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend cost-saving or revenue-enhancing strategies.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.

Revenue Cycle & Billing Oversight:

• Monitor accounts receivable (A/R), claims processing, and reimbursement cycles.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare billing regulations (e.g., ICD-10, CPT codes, CMS guidelines).
• Collaborate with billing/coding teams to resolve denials or underpayments.

Cost Management & Operational Efficiency:

• Track departmental expenditures and identify opportunities for cost containment.
• Evaluate vendor contracts, procurement processes, and capital expenditures.
• Partner with clinical and administrative teams to align financial goals with operational needs.

Compliance & Risk Management:

• Ensure adherence to GAAP, HIPAA, and healthcare financial regulations.
• Support audits (internal/external) and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Mitigate financial risks related to billing, fraud, or reimbursement changes.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

• Supervise accounting/finance staff (e.g., accountants, analysts).
• Liaise with clinical departments, IT, and executives to drive financial initiatives.
• Train non-finance staff on budgeting, expense tracking, and compliance.

Qualifications:
Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Healthcare Administration.
• Preferred: MBA, CPA, or CMA certification.

Experience:

• 5+ years in healthcare finance (hospital, physician practice, insurance, or related).
• Proficiency in healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) and EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
• Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid, managed care, and value-based reimbursement models.

Skills:

• Advanced Excel and financial modeling; ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
