Job Title Finance Director - Manufacturing

Description

Our client is a JV with a UAE government entity. This is effectively a start-up bespoke manufacturing company. The FD will be responsible for establishing the accounting department from scratch, new chart of accounts etc, as well as setting up of the overall financial strategy, capital structuring, financial planning and control including; budgeting, cost accounting, forecasting, period closing & reporting.

He/she will be responsible for ERP implementation and maintenance, internal & external audit, investment assessment, financial risks, assets management, tax related matters and developing the finance team (JDs drafting, hiring, training, supervising, Emiratization, valuation, etc.).

Responsibilities
Manage a team: A/R, A/P, treasury, fixed assets, payroll, budgeting, period closing & reporting
Responsible for all banking other financial institutions related matters including arranging leverages, long term funds, project finance, bank accounts and deposits etc.
Managing treasury function of the company (cash planning and forecast, deposits, funding activities, loan repayment, investments).
Annual budget preparation, implementation and forecast.
Establish cost accounting system and guarantee accurate cost tracking and reporting.
Assisting management in formulating its overall strategic plan and aligning financial strategy with overall company's objectives.
Interpreting the company's financial results to management and recommend improvement measures and actions.
Obtain full explanations on variances, prepare analysis and summaries, consolidate financial data and present results and forecast to management.
Prepare high quality financial analysis and management information through monthly management reports.
Provide financial leadership for all financial control, cost control, accounting and reporting functions.
Act as financial partner and provide support to other function heads and peers.
Developing, maintaining and enhancing all policies, processes, and procedures related to finance.
Performing continuous reviews and provide reports on departments and product lines performance, including brief on business progress, variations, results and recommendations.
Engaging in benchmarking studies to establish areas of potential operational improvement.
Provide leadership to the finance team (planning work and duties, follow up and reporting, training and supervision, job description, attendance, relations with other departments, information confidentiality, hiring process, training, vacations, system access, annuals review and coaching and provide technical support for members).
Oversee the operations of the finance department, and ensure application of best practices, time management, quality control and accuracy to meet management expectations and support decision making.
Establish and maintain system of documentation and filing for all transactions.
Fixed assets control (register, coding, periodic count, valuation, and safeguarding), and recommend actions to maximize benefits of assets (replacement, salvage, maintenance, enhancement, etc.)
Onboarding all auditors and provide full support to accomplish their work programs (internal and external auditors and any required reviews).
Requirements
Only candidates from a manufacturing (cost accounting) background will be considered.
Any experience in the marine industry will be a huge advantage
Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant
15 years min experience with last 5 years spent in a senior finance (FD or senior business partner) role
Excellent interpersonal skills
Desire to work in a start-up environment and a small but successful and growing company
