:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Director to lead our financial operations and drive sustainable growth in a fast-paced geospatial technology environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen, business insight, and leadership to support data-driven decision-making and long-term value creation. This individual will oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and financial reporting while aligning finance with the company's technological and commercial objectives.
Core Responsibilities:
Develop and lead the company's financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
Oversee financial operations, including accounting, FP&A, reporting, audit, tax, and treasury functions.
Analyze financial data and KPIs to provide insights and recommendations to the executive team and board.
Support strategic initiatives such as partnerships, product launches, pricing models, and market expansion.
Implement financial controls, risk management processes, and compliance with IFRS/GAAP and regulatory standards.
Manage financial aspects of government and commercial contracts, including cost accounting and revenue recognition (particularly for project-based or SaaS/geospatial data services).
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, sales, and R&D to align financial planning with business goals.
Evaluate investment opportunities, M&A activity, and capital structure improvements.
Lead financial reporting to investors, government agencies, or funding partners as needed.
Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team to build high-performance capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
8-12+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Experience in the geospatial, technology, software, or data services industry strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of SaaS, subscription, or project-based financial models.
Knowledge of government grants/contracts (e.g., NASA, ESA, NOAA, DOD) is a plus.
Proven track record in strategic financial planning, reporting, and team leadership.
Hands-on experience with ERP, accounting, and business intelligence tools (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Power BI, Tableau).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
