Finance Director

Primary Purpose of the Role:
The financial director is responsible for the overall performance and P&L of the business in alignment with the strategic plan. The core responsibility is to lead, direct, plan, organize and manage the financial lines of the business with complete responsibility. The second core responsibility is to direct team in defining goals and objectives and develop strategies to achieve and evaluate those goals.
Role Overview
To provide Financial and Accounting services to the organisation to facilitate effective business planning, to accurately reflect the financial position of the company, and maximise returns of revenue through relevant financial tools.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning
  • Assist the Executive Director and Board Members.in developing a long-term strategic plan.
  • Implement the Chairman approved strategic plan.
  • Develop and present annual financial plan based on Senior Management strategic plan.
  • Identify new investment opportunities.
Financial Management
  • Advise management on all Group Finance matters.
  • Control and review the annual budgeting and business planning process for the various departments and wholly owned subsidiaries.
  • Plan cash flows on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis for the Group offices.
  • Make and prepare revenue and margin projections as required.
  • Develop, implement, and manage financial policies and procedures for national and international group companies.
  • Establish and maintain all financial and accounting systems, manual and automated, coordinating with the IT department to ensure systems meet existing and future requirements.
  • Ensure that the Finance department adheres to local statutory requirements including the retention of appropriate documents for the required legal period.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and development as a member of the management team, analyse business plans, budget constraints, Return on Investment, and potential profitability of new ventures.
  • Develop, implement, and manage financial policies and procedures for national and international group companies.
  • Establish and maintain all financial and accounting systems, manual and automated, coordinating with the IT department to ensure systems meet existing and future requirements.
  • Own the P&L of the group and maintain long-term profitability.
  • Monitor financial KPIs (e.g. Revenues, profitability, overheads etc.) closely to ensure overall financial health.
  • Manage organization\'s expenditure within the annual approved budget.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports for the company to the Executive Director and Board Members.
  • Develop and deliver statistical reports that will present an accurate picture of the current business situation and project future changes.
  • Evaluate financial statements from group companies and joint ventures and provide a financial summary for the Executive Director and Board Members.
  • Develop Fund Management ideas and debt restricting.
  • Perform Due Diligence.
  • Perform the Audit and liaison with the external auditors.
Organization, Culture & People
  • Hire, lead, manage and outboard human resources in the organization (direct reports) based on requirement and performance, but in conformance with HR policies and local laws.
  • Oversee the implementation of the corporate performance management system and incentive system to motivate employees.
  • Oversee the implementation of overall talent and staff development plans including high performers, learning development, career management and competency development.
  • Lead, support, and act as the chief change agent in the business
Relationship with Executive Director / Board Members
  • Ensure timely reporting on progress against the strategic and annual business plan.
  • Report KPIs as defined in the KPI dashboard.
  • Obtain approval and seek financial assistance to execute investment plan.
