Job Description

  • Manage overall financial reporting process & cycle of MEA business ~$0.8B. Extensive planning, analysis & generation of management reports to cover depth and breadth of business
    • Timely and accurate submission of monthly US GAAP financial statements, rolling forecasts, weekly reports & annual budgets. Responsible for completeness and accuracy
    • Manage all aspects of financial accounting, ensuring the integrity of Balance Sheet and Income statement
    • Manage all planning activities including quarterly / mid-year reviews and annual budget reviews to align targets with management
    • Ensure all year-end and quarterly reporting requirements (External Reporting) are thoroughly reviewed and submitted within timelines
    • Pro-active partnering with business units, functions and regions and provide various month/quarter end/ annual data pack s to keep management informed & updated on state of business
  • Own & manage world area HQ cost center spend, including periodic reviews with senior management
  • Ensure adherence to Emerson corporate policies and local statutory country requirements. Work closely with regions for timely & successful filing of statutory reports. Ensure ICQ compliance
  • Responsible for Risk Management, identifying, evaluating, and mitigating financial risks that could impact the business.
  • Provide guidance to MEA organization on accounting queries
  • Be the primary World Area contact for all US reporting requirements and queries
  • Manage ad hoc requests from Emerson and MEA Leadership
  • Close collaboration with CFO and President on a daily basis. Presentation of financial performance at MEA leadership meetings in absence of CFO
  • Evaluation of capital expenditure requests
  • Closely work with Global Financial teams to drive standard processes across regions and business unit
  • Develop talent within the organization. Develop a well-structured, cohesive MEA finance team to ensure continuity and stability, with ability to work seamlessly in a highly matrix organization
  • Develop and assist in the modernization of financial analysis and reporting through intelligent automation
  • Drive continuous improvement of processes, systems, and reports, including the centralization and automation of reporting and analysis processes.
  • Oversight of world area treasury function and assist in decentralizing responsibilities to regions
  • Lead relationship with finance back offices in Manila and Pune
  • Any other duties as deemed appropriate by line and dotted line manager.
Qualifications
  • Qualified accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • 12+ years functional experience, 6+ years of managerial experience
  • Ability to develop and foster strategic relationships, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills are key for this role
  • Proven ability to work with people at all levels
  • Ability to manage time and work to a tight deadline and manage different priorities
  • Strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate high integrity and ethics in all activities
  • Experience with Oracle, Hyperion and PowerBI
