GHD is looking for a Finance Business Partner who works closely with Project Managers (PMs), Project Directors (PDs), Business Group Leaders (BGLs) and key stakeholders to drive financial performance and provide key insights on project performance. As an integral member of the team, the finance business partner will work under the direction of the Finance Manager, to provide proactive support to the business including project financial performance, internal and external compliance, reporting and client outcomes. An element of the role will involve standardizing/streamlining processes and implementing the GHD way of working to align with global policy.

Key roles and responsibilities:
  • Work closely with PMs, PDs, BGLs and key stakeholders to drive optimal; financial performance by influencing, analyzing, interpreting and communicating key performance indicators.
  • Providing trusted financial advice to key stakeholders to align business direction, financial strategies and utilizing a variety of data sources to support sound decision making.
  • Promptly alert the key business risks affecting the business and develop and implement actions to mitigate the business risks and to optimize business performance.
  • Assist in Pricing / Commercial Analysis support for project proposals and major projects.
  • Ensure each project in the project management system accurately reflects the work breakdown structure, commercial terms and billing requirements.
  • Monthly analytical reviews of projects (Budget, Effort, Revenue, WIP, AR, Variances) and engaging with PMs, PDs and stakeholders for discussion to ensure optimal performance and accurate revenue recognition.
  • Ensure all applicable client billings are raised on a monthly basis and finalized by the due date.
  • Assist in driving project cash collections on projects.
  • Provide month analysis of KPIs and Billing / Cash Collections forecasts.
  • Provide system and commercial insight training for stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and content of Balance Sheet accounts and ledgers.
  • Assist in timely statutory reporting.
  • Assist in liaising and addressing queries from corporate, internal and external auditors.
  • Assist in ensuring GHD meets all internal and external compliance requirements.
  • Support the annual budgeting process by analyzing existing data and providing forecasts.
  • Assist in other finance related issues as they arise or directed by the Finance Manager.
  • Adhere to all GHD internal control and finance manual policies.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • An appropriate accounting qualification
  • Minimum 5 years in a similar Finance role
  • Strong adherence to professional ethics and confidentiality
  • Experience in a professional services, construction or project environment with a thorough understanding of work in progress concepts
  • Well organized and an ability to develop process and procedures.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with implementation and embedding new systems would be viewed favorably
  • Experience in BST 10 viewed favorably
  • Experience in developing, analyzing and reporting to Budgets and Forecasts
  • The ability to influence, collaborate and build relationships to drive exceptional business performance
  • Proven ability to influence, manage and prioritize across diverse stakeholders.
  • Sound excel and Microsoft office suite skills
  • A pragmatic and action orientated approach with a willingness to get involved at a hands on level.
