Your day to day We’re looking for someone with tenacity, a positive attitude, boundless energy, and some Hotel Indigo® swagger. You'll be responsible for leading the Finance Department as an integral member of the hotel’s management team, providing expertise and direction in financial aspects plus functional guidance to the Executive Committee and Department Heads. You'll also uphold IHG standards for internal controls and champion a constant drive for continued improvement in financial performance by interacting with key stakeholders in providing analysis and recommendations to facilitate sound decision making across the entire business. Financial Returns • Provide financial guidance in the formulation and implementation of Strategic Plan, Budget and KPO’s (Goals Program). • Ensure an up-to-date cash flow projections are maintained and cash flow performance of the hotel through controls on inventory, credit and collection, disbursements, deposits and remittances. • Prepare outlooks for forthcoming months and forecasts for the remainder of the year. • Prepare monthly position of actual results against budget, analyse results, and recommend measures required to meet budget. • Distribute outlook and forecast information as an up-to-date management tool for operating departments. • Implement and review financial controls and policies. • Analyse financial and management reports. • Design internal reporting systems required by the department and hotel. • Manage internal and external audits when they occur. • Provide administrative support to Management with reference to policy enforcement, business advice and operational assistance. • Ensure all accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis, review and approve these reconciliations. People • Communicate and maintain good relationships with Owners and their appointed representatives. • Identify training needs and develop formal training plans. Conduct training sessions for accounting and operational staff in coordination with other departments. • Identify colleagues with potential for promotion and/or transfer within the accounting operation. • Participate in local recognized professional and industry organizations. • Work with Human Resources on manpower planning and management needs. • Cooperate, coordinate, and communicate with other departments in matters concerning accounting related matters and internal control. Responsible Business • Evaluate existing internal control measures that apply to accounting procedures and computer systems as per IHG Policies and Procedures. • Employ adequate internal control procedures to ensure correct authorization for payment procedures. • Obtain appropriate legal counsel regarding the business practices of the hotel and maintain an awareness of local laws, rules, and regulations. • Provide safekeeping, including proper storage and access for all contracts, leases and other financial records. Additional Responsibilities: • Understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the IHG Colleagues’ Code of Conduct and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety. • Promote efficiency, confidence, courtesy, and an extremely high standard of social skills. • Generally promote and ensure good inter-departmental relations. • Display a pleasant manner and positive attitude at all times and promote a good company image to guests and colleagues. • Demonstrate pride in the workplace and personal appearance at all times when representing the hotel thus identifying a high level of commitment.



What we need from you Ideally, you'll have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, 4-8 years’ experience in hotel accounting or audit with at least 2 years in a Financial Controller or similar department head role, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience, ability to demonstrate working with commercially focused and a keen eye for detail with strong analytical & numerical skills High-level competence in Microsoft Excel and other office packages. Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills (both verbal and written) along with being quality-oriented with a focus on details, high-performance standards, ability to multi-task & meet deadlines, and technical proficiency in related software preferable.
