Job Description

The Field Buyer is responsible to manage and execute the procurement of technical materials, tools, equipment, and services required for estate engineering operations. The Field Buyer plays a key role in sourcing reliable vendors, conducting on-site market visits, negotiating prices, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement in line with specifications and project needs. The position ensures a seamless flow between field requirements and procurement execution, supporting uninterrupted estate maintenance and technical operations.

JOB LOCATION: FUJAIRAH, UAE

QUALIFICATIONS:

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management. Certification in Procurement and Supply Chain Management (e.g., CIPS, IFPSM, or equivalent) preferred. UAE Driving License (mandatory for field visits). Familiarity with UAE local procurement regulations and municipal requirements is an advantage.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in technical purchasing, preferably in facilities management, engineering, or construction within the UAE. Experience in sourcing and purchasing MEP materials, tools, spare parts, and technical consumables. Hands-on experience coordinating with maintenance/engineering teams and site technicians.

KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

Technical Procurement Knowledge

Strong understanding of MEP materials, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance products. Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, BOQs, and material submittals. Familiar with SOW-based service purchasing (e.g., elevator maintenance, pest control, etc.).

Vendor Sourcing & Market Knowledge

Deep knowledge of local UAE markets, suppliers, and approved vendors for technical goods. Skilled in performing field visits, price comparisons, and market benchmarking. Ability to identify alternate sources without compromising on quality or compliance.

Negotiation & Cost Control

Strong negotiation skills to ensure competitive pricing and value for money. Experience in negotiating payment terms, delivery timelines, and service agreements.

Logistics & Delivery Management

Ability to coordinate with logistics teams and vendors for timely delivery to site or store. Verifying deliveries against orders and resolving discrepancies in quality or quantity.

Documentation & ERP Systems

Proficient in creating and managing Purchase Orders, RFQs, GRNs, and delivery notes. Experience using ERP or procurement systems. Maintaining procurement logs, records, and warranty documentation.

Communication & Coordination

Strong coordination skills with engineering, warehouse, and accounts departments. Clear communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Ability to respond quickly to urgent field requests and site requirements.
